Bought these planters for our indoor herb/plant garden and they worked great. Some of the boards were a little warped, but you can't beat the price. It was also very convenient that on the shelf right next to the planters in Home Depot were the liners that fit into them perfectly. Would recommend - very easy to hang.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great outside planters but you will need to paint them These are great outside planters that are available in 3 different lengths but you will need to paint them - I also highly recommend you purchase the exact-size fitting plastic liners for these boxes. I painted mine white and popped in the black plastic liners and they are holding up great. My neighbor applied a marine varnish on his same planter boxes and that was 3 years ago and they still look amazing. I like white so I painted mine. Expecting them to last at least as long as my neighbor's boxes

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't Waste Your Money! I bought 6 of these flower boxes this past summer to provide privacy on my deck and give the area a little ambiance, but I was disappointed when the flowers I planted in them did not retain water for long, so the flowers died. In addition, the structure of the box is really cheaply made. The sides began to crack under the summer heat and they are glued and stapled together. Like the other reviewers, I think this product is OVER PRICED! I thought I would be able to display them next summer, but most of them did not make it through one season. I was highly disappointed with this purchase. I guess I'll have to try something else for next year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless I bought this same box many years ago and it lasted almost a decade. At that time, these boxes had metal bands to reinforce the joints. They no longer use the bands and simply staple them without glue. I bought two of them at a price that is far too high, (even if they weren't defective) but the wood warped and they fell apart within weeks. DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use it inside with a plastic liner I purchased this for an inside window ledge in my office. The Home Depot associate recommended that I also purchase a black, plastic liner. With this combination, my office ivy are growing and the planter contributes a great deal to the aesthetic of the room. I think the other reviewers are not using liners and leaving the untreated wood planter in the elements.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not pretty, cheap material, but will get the job done This is not an attractive or well made box. It's made of what looks like pine and is stapled together. The staples are visible, the stain is not a great color, and the one I have isn't even sanded completely (see photo). Overall it looks like it was built in a middle school shop class that had access to pneumatic tools. The design is rather pedestrian as well. That being said, once you get flowers or herbs in it it will do the job. It has drainage holes in the bottom, but because it's made of wood, you might be best off lining it with plastic or using it to hold potted plants, otherwise I wouldn't expect it to last more than one season if it's filled directly with soil.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too small for sun-location The problem with these window boxes is that they are so narrow (just 7 inches) that they just can't hold enough soil to keep plants moist in hot sun. They might work in mostly-shaded positions, but mine are in 8+ hrs sun and the plants are suffering, even in Apr/May with me watering them 2x day. My adivce, buy a window box with greater capacity.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great looking, doesn't stay together well I like the look of this window box, but once I started using it, the boards started coming apart. They are just stapled together, so it is not great quality.
