Pennington Fast Acting Lime Plus AST goes to work right away to raise your soil pH. Low pH can cause moss and bare spots in your lawn and can encourage weeds to grow. Limestone helps balance soil pH to create a better soil environment for your lawn, which significantly reduces these problems. Pennington 30 lb. Fast Acting Lime Plus AST is more concentrated than regular dolomitic limestone, so you only have to use 30 pounds to cover 5,000 square feet. This unique formula combines Advanced Soil Technology, or AST, with high-quality lime to maximize the benefit to the soil.

  • Starts working immediately to raise soil pH fast
  • Apply with any fertilizer spreader
  • Applies easily with a lawn spreader for your convenience
  • Can be applied in the spring, summer, and fall
  • Covers 5,000 square feet, the equivalent of 5 bags of regular pelletized lime

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 26 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gives lawn a spring start I use it to maintain soil ph. It is more effective than regular granular lime, and one bag of Lime Plus AST does the job of about 4 bags of regular lime. So, cost-wise, it works out about the same. Began greening the lawn within days. Mixed it with Epsom salts to add magnesium. Followed it up 2 - 3 weeks later with organic fertilizer -- most of the nitrogen is slow-release -- mixed with sulfate of potash and I'm set for the next few months. Hope to keep my St. Augustine green without getting a growth surge. March 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easier to use than the powdery stuff Lime will not kill moss, period. Lime is meant to provide suitable soil for growing grass which, in turn, may or may not crowd-out moss. Moss control is an entirely different topic. Lime and lawn fertilizer applications should be separated by several weeks. Lime will neutralize the nitrogen in lawn fertilizer. March 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product Very good product, but disappointrd that it is no longer available in the store. April 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product I didn't realize it was more than lime until now! Our lawn was looking really awful and we knew it needed to do something so decided to lime and fertilize. We applied this product along with a winterizing lawn fertilizer with weed control. The lawn really perked up...glad we didn't kill it! I think we were lucky...I would recommend just the FAST ACTING LIME PLUS AST DRY LAWN FERTILIZER. October 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Green Up Your Lawn This product was previously sold in the store. Now it has to be special ordered. Great product to utilize once a year to help green up your lawn. Use a spreader set on broad broadcast. Use sparingly to prevent lawn burning. Water immediately. I now have the greenest lawn in the neighborhood. April 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lime really works Since using this product, and following it with regular lawn fertilizer, my lawn has done it's very best ever. I never realized that deficiencies in the soil would prevent fertilizer from giving it's optimum. I will use this from here on. October 14, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to apply It was very easy to apply with my rotary spreader. It will take time to see if my soil is sufficiently sweetened to avoid moss. March 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Get soil test before applying Lime in kentucky. lime is very good for your lawn in areas where the soil PH is too low. In kentucky most lawns already have too high a Ph and adding lime is bad for these lawns. Your county extention service gives FREE soil test to their residents. Always get the soil test for the very best lawn. The test will also tell you exactly what needs to be put on your lawn and how much. Don't destroy your lawn with too much lime. December 23, 2011
