Answer:
We would recommend using 3 pounds per 1,000 sq. ft. when seeding a bare area. Kentucky Bluegrass will establish best in areas that receive at least four hours of daily sunlight.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good seed--the question is how well will it hold up. The most unusual thing about this seed is its small size. It is about half the size of other grass I have sown. It takes anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks to germinate. The last planting came up in 2 weeks. It must have been the cool damp nights in Buffalo, NY. Most of the seed seems to have germinated. If this survives the winter and comes back after a drought, I would give it 5 stars. A year from now I will update the review if it is possible. September 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Blue Grass has kind of a known value. Can't really properly evaluate this brand until Spring. Blue Grass has kind of a known value. Can't really properly evaluate this brand until Spring. My plan is to wait until first snow is forecast and apply then. Hopefully the critters wont get to it and I'l have a lovely lawn to mow next year. September 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product I have used this product before with good results. Very pleased. September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Seed grew in areas I couldn't get grass to grow I had some areas of my yard that were compacted from dog traffic and shaded. I broke up the soil to a few inches down and distributed the seed. It lightly rained the next couple days and then again a few days later but that was all the watering it got. I started raking the leaves and noticed a lot of new grass growth under them. I was very excited and surprised (figuring I didn't do my part very well tending to the newly seeded areas). It's been a month or so and just about all the seeded area is covered with new grass. Very satisfied. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fast growing This seed is great. In 3 days I had grass growing that was thick and green. October 15, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Seed Ever This smart seed grows well with very little care. It germinates relatively quick and you see grass begin to grow in 5 to 7 days. June 9, 2015
