Customer Questions & Answers

I purchased this unit about a year ago. It did a very good job.

However, the AC adapter quit working and I am unable to find a replacement. Any suggestions?
Asked by: Kiki

How many square feet can this cover?

I need a dehumidifier for a 400sq ft. studio, will this dehumidifier be enough or do I need something bigger?
Asked by: Girlyserendipity
No. It will not even be close. I bought this for a cold storage room that is less than 100 sq ft and it would not dry the room. The room is very damp - after 24 hours it had filled the reservoir less than 1/8 of an inch. There was still moisture on the walls and ceiling.

My office is 1,152 cubic feet and the humidity is 70% - 80%, and 78 - 82. Will this unit reduce humidity to 40%

Is this to small to use in a bedroom in a basement that smells musty?

I need a dehumidifier in my basement bedroom that is very musty is this too small?
Asked by: jcallahan0825
My bedroom is upstairs and measures 13' x 11' and the dehumidifier takes the humidity down around 3 percent. My basement has an LG dehumidifier I purchased in 2010 that has a hose hooked up to a floor drain which I purchased at Home Depot. I can't imagine putting this small dehumidifier in the basement bedroom without also having a larger main dehumidifier to take care of the basement.

How can I get a new fan?

The fan quit and the manufacturer of the fan only sells this fan to Perfect Home.
Asked by: fannowork
Based on past experience, I would have to guess a new fan would be 33 to 50% of the cost of a new unit. It would not be cost effective. That being said, it also could be another issue causing the fan not to run. I would replace with a new unit.

Would this be good to use in a 28 ft camper?

Asked by: Myla
We're in a 32 foot Class A RV and it does work well for us. It does't pull as much water as we would like but it's quite and does help keep the humidity down.

Customer Reviews

4 pt. Dehumidifier is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 334.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best investment for our RV! We were suffering under extreme humidity in our new RV. So we purchased this item after some research on the internet. We could feel the difference within a few hours. We originally thought that it might be too small; But that has turned out to not be the case: It handles both the upstairs and downstairs quarters efficiently in our 32' 5th wheel RV. We have not been disappointed. And we received it from Home Depot in just 2 days after mail ordering. I only gave it 4 stars across the board because we've not had another product to compare it to (i.e., my ratings are from a conservative standpoint).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from done on one Purchased this for our office that is about 10x12. It did do a noticeable job of dehumidifying the air. This place has an exterior door but is air conditioned in Florida. It worked for exactly one year. Yesterday I came in and it was gone, no lights, nothing except the small weak green light on the plug in adapter. I tried plugging it somewhere else, jiggling the parts that sense the water container, and stuff like that. Basically had nothing to lose by then by trying stuff to get it to work again. It does okay, just don't expect it to last. It was a bummer that right when the warranty ends the life of it ends as well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Died after two years We had this dehumidifier running more or less constantly in our bathroom (which doesn't have any kind of built in vent or fan). It helped slightly in mitigating the dampness of the room. It wasn't particularly quiet (definitely a noticeable hum, which was raspier and harsher right after you emptied the tank). It wasn't really pulling a LOT of water from the air, since the tank was only filling up every two months or so. It recently stopped working entirely, just after the two-year mark of owning it. It appears the connection between the machine and the power cord has corroded or something (it's gunked up, in layman's terms). I am not confident in my ability to safely clean out the electrical components, so I guess it's time to trash it. Overall, I would not buy this again. It wasn't that powerful to start with and it died completely sooner than I would have hoped for the money I paid. I'm looking at alternative models to replace it.

Had it plugged in for well over 4 hours and it barely collected a tablespoon of water!! The power cord got very hot as well. It's going back! Was hoping this would work as it would be easier to move from room to room over a bigger model.

Bought this a couple of years ago to keep mold off my basement gun room equipment. It works very well, but just recently it quit. The unit works great, but the power supply (12v 5 A) quit. It is working at max to power this unit, so eventually must have overworked and failed. If they supplied it with a slightly higher amperage power supply, it should work much longer. I can't find a replacement power supply that has the right plug on the cord. That is disappointing. Would recommend, so far as performance; gave it low rating because of short life of power supply.

It pulls about an inch of water (6-8 ounces?) from a small bedroom over the course of a week. But negligible amounts from a slightly larger basement room that definitely has a bit of a moisture issue. I don't know if this is standard, but the intake vents ice up so I unplug it after a week and let it defrost. So, small room - this does the job; big room - get something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works very well, might get another of this dehumidifier I've got a small (and I mean small) studio apartment and this dehumidifier is just right for its price. It's almost the same volume as my white-noise maker. It takes over a week to fill up before I have to empty it. I'm thinking of getting another just in case.
