Product Overview

The Home Master Whole House Three Stage Filter is great for well water with iron, manganese, and sulfur problems up to 3 PPM combined. Have your well water analyzed before buying (for city water, consider model #HMF2SmgCC). The Home Master Filter Pressure Performance Series uses oversized filters, housings and fittings to ensure your water pressure never falls short. Larger filters require less frequent service, which saves you time, money and inconvenience. The system treats sediment, turbidity, iron, manganese, sulfur smell, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals to deliver clean, clear water to every faucet and bath in your home without significantly drawing down water pressure. The first stage is a 4-layer depth polypropylene sediment filter: 25-micron surface, 10-micron layer, 5-micron layer and 1-micron inner core, designed for purity with bacterial and chemical resistance. It typically lasts 12 months depending on usage and sediment quantity. The second stage reduces iron, manganese and sulfur: the radial flow design provides excellent filtration with minimal pressure drop (less than 1 PSI) to effectively reduce iron, manganese and sulfur smell in water up to 3 PPM combined contaminant load. The third stage features a radial flow granular activated coconut shell carbon that removes chemicals, taste and odor up to 100,000 gallons. Included is the Home Master Filter System with filters, steel mounting bracket with bolts, housing wrench and instructions.

  • Massive filter housings with 1 in. ports for the strongest water pressure possible, up to 15 GPM
  • 4-gradient density replaceable sediment filter produces finer filtration and greater dirt holding capacity with filtration down to 1 micron
  • Great for well water; for city water, consider model #HMF2SmgCC
  • Excellent purification removes up to 95% of iron, manganese, sediment, chemicals and other contaminants that create foul tastes and odors; treats iron and manganese up to 3 PPM combined load
  • Oversized filters improve flow rate and reduce maintenance frequency
  • Check your installation space before ordering; system dimensions: 27 in. H x 24 in. W x 9 in. D
  • Operating conditions-pH: 7-10; iron: 0-3 PPM; iron bacteria: none; manganese: 0-1 PPM; hydrogen sulfide: 0-1 PPM; feed water: PSI: 20-90; feed water temperature: 40-100F max; total dissolved solids (TDS): 2000 PPM

$20 on bleach or $200 on hydrogen peroxide
Also I can't stress this enough to use allot of lube or else the filters will not come off, or you will get leaks.
It clearly states to NOT use petroleum jelly, but as long as you use allot, the O rings will stay in great shape and it will be easy to remove. We just bought a huge jar and it sits next to the filters.
So everything should come out to be about $300-$315
For changing the filters it depends on how much sediment, iron, and sulfur you have as well as how many people live in your house hold.
*If you never got your water tested then the following doesn't matter, you will just need to wait until your smell, iron taste, or sediment water comes back
6 ppm iron = 3 ppm manganese = 1 ppm H2S
The have a approximate life cycle for iron only
Formula would be X = ion, y = mag, and z = h2s
X + (Y x 2) + (Z x 6) = ppm
See chart for details

Answer:
The cost of the filters depends on which filters that you put in there. This system is customizable. All three canisters are identical. You usually start with the sediment filter and there are several options there. I also use two different carbon filters for my specific needs. You can search around for 20" Big Blue filters and select the ones that you want for your situation.

Answer:
That depends on how dirty your water is, how much water your family uses, and how picky you are! The "normal" schedule is annually. You'll have to adjust based on your needs. I have municipal water yet the sediment filter is pretty dirty after 6-9 months. I hope that helps.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 121 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Life Changing Filtration System! The system was easy to install with the help of a plumber friend during a basement build-out. We placed it post-irrigation as to not waste the filters on the sprinklers (hint hint), and it has done an amazing job for the whole house!! We have well-supplied water and this system has virtually eliminated all rust stains, rotten egg odors and mineral build-up in our sinks, baths, dishwasher, and washing machine. Our food, skin and hair is healthier, dishes are always spotless, and clothes are the cleanest ever! I even hooked up a hose bib post-filter to wash the car, and it dries without spotting! Who knew filtered water would be life changing? I highly recommend this product, as well as the excellent customer service from the fine folks at The Perfect Water Company! July 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fixed our water problems completely!!! My girlfriend's house had terrible well water, rust stains in the toilets, sinks and tub. Got several estimates from different national water treatment companies, wanted thousands of dollars or long term rental equipment installed. Read about this system, bought it, installed it, and WOW! Rust is gone, water is clear and drinkable. We did have a water softener already installed, but this truly cleared up and made the water usable. After cleaning all the rust stains, they have not returned in a year. I will simply replace the filters once a year. On a side bar, best thing in the world to remove rust stains in a shower............Easy Off. Yes, it works miracles. August 30, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product But........ We purchased this system because we have well water and have some mineral deposits in our faucets and toilets. But the main reason, for me, was to get rid of that awful rotten egg smell that comes when you first turn on the faucets. I was so happy when my husband installed it, last week as a matter of fact, to finally get rid of that smell Unfortunately, it did not. It might have lessened it a bit but it's still there. I am hoping , that it will take a little more time for the system to fully work, but a week seemed like a long while to see result. We bought this because we read the reviews first and saw that so many customers, like ourselves, were having that smell. Unfortunately, it did not resolve this issue for us. We are having the water tested this coming week to see what they find and i will be back here to let you know the results. Other than that, the positive side of this, is the sparkling dishes we are now getting out of the dishwasher. AND my white laundry is brighter! The toilet rings are gone from the first cleaning after the installation . That drove me nuts, as I had to clean the toilets almost 2x a day to get out the ring. So if it could take away that terrible odor........it would be a miracle product!! September 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase! This product definitely improved our water, no more smell and the water tastes great! We have very hard well water and live in a farming area where they use a lot of chemicals. We already had a water softener, but still had issues with the water. So happy we got this! August 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Water for sure Love this system. I have well water with rust and occasional faint sulphur smell--Not anymore!, this system has transformed my water into rust free, sediment free, great tasting Water! So glad I went with this system. No more rust stained toilets, sinks or Tubs! I highly recommend this whole house System! Sandy July 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product so far Had this triple product filter product installed last week at a vacation home we use 60 days per year. So far, completely satisfied. We did not want the hassle of using a water softener, so this was a good option. Ran a county health water test first to see what we were dealing with.....We already knew we had iron, sand particles, and rotten egg smell, but we needed to the levels and the water test have us the necessary info. This product has eliminated all perceivable iron and there is no odor. We used to use a Brita filter at the but that is gone now. I can drink and cool with water from the tap. I also replaced the ~20 year old water heater at the same time, it gave off terrible smells through the hot water lines, like in the shower. I had a licensed plumber that I trust do the install, it was super easy for him. I had him install a bypass circuit, that way if there is any problem with the filter I can still deliver water to the house until I fix the problem (ie an o-ring goes bad on one of the fixture housings). I also had him attach the mounting bracket to a 2x12 that was first secured to the wall, I felt this was a more secure mount than directly into the concrete. I also cut two 2x4's as vertical supports down to the basement floor to support the load of the filled filter housings. The only thing that would improve the design is a drain at the bottom of the housings, when I winterize later this year, I will have to unscrew these housings, but I estimate they're only ~20 pounds or so when full of water so it shouldnt be too bad. We bought a second set of filters because we don't know how long the first set will last......We are hoping for 5 years for a family of 5 using the 60 days/year. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Major improvement Our main goal was to find a system that was NOT a salt based water softener system that still required an OS system. And this is part 1 of what we came up with. This filtration system does exactly what it says it does. Which means takes care of everything except the hard water/scale issues (calcium and magnesium). No more smell or brown particles in the water which was huge! (Before & after pictures of toilet water!) It was not designed to be a water softener or conditioner but it does take all the other things like iron and pesticides out of the water. (It's quite heavy so we built a frame for it to be installed on instead of the side of our manufactured home. See picture) FYI: Part 2 is the water conditioning system. We bought the ScaleBlaster which is also sold by Home Depot. I'll be writing a review on that after I've had it installed for a month or so, which is what the manufacturer says it takes to clear out all the scale buildup in the water pipes for the whole house. Hopefully this will take care of the scale issue which is unbelievable here in Mohave Valley, AZ. (Our water is so hard that when I ran the dishwasher the first time everything came out with baked on white scale. I've had to Brillo everything to get it off!!!). So the dishwasher test will make or break the ScaleBlaster! November 18, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD VALUE We had the filter installed by our plumber a week ago and it took a couple of hours. He needed to flush the system for quite a while until the water ran clear. So far we have noticed that the chlorine odor is less pronounced. We are on a community well and the water has never been discolored, so I can't comment on that but we know that in this area of NC, the water is high in manganese and iron, and this unit is supposed to filter that out. I didn't give 5 stars because it's really too soon to judge but we certainly feel that this purchase gives us peace of mind in terms of improving our water quality without breaking the bank, so overall a good value.
