Product Overview

HydroGardener Pro Remineralizing Reverse Osmosis system for hydroponics and gardening on well water or city water with chloramines solves many of the problems associated with traditional RO systems. Traditional RO systems are destroyed by well water that is high in iron and manganese or city water containing chloramines. The HydroGardener Pro contains a pre filter with KDF85 media and catalytic carbon to remove iron, manganese and chloramines. Traditional RO systems produce water that is demineralized and acidic. The HydroGardener Pro delivers pH Balanced Mineral Water on Tap by first stripping the water clean, removing up to 98% of contaminants using the reverse osmosis (RO) process, sediment, catalytic carbon, and iron filtration then channels the water through the remineralization system to add 15-30 PPM calcium and magnesium minerals (cal/mag). The HydroGardener Pro creates the best possible water for your plants and garden. Traditional RO systems suffer from poor water production and increased water waste in the typical low water pressure well water environment. In designing the HydroGardener Pro a sophisticated combination of flow restriction components, including a non-electric permeate pump were integrated into the system to regulate pressure to the high efficiency RO membrane. In the Box: Assembled purification unit, 1 year of filters, 3/8 in. feed water adapter, shut off, garden hose adapter, 130 GPD TFC RO membrane, Permeate pump, drain saddle, instructions.

  • Great for well water - removes up to 98% of iron, manganese, chemicals, heavy metals, sediment, and other contaminants - better water for improved yields
  • Great for city water high in chloramines too
  • Operates at pressure down to 35 psi
  • Built-in cal/mag delivery system - adds 15-30 PPM cal/mag
  • Superior design - uses modular filters where the filter element and the filter housing are all-in-one assembly for quick and easy annual filter changes - no wrenches necessary
  • High efficiency reverse osmosis membrane and permeate pump - up to 130 Gal. per day and 1 to 1 waste ratio
  • No electricity required
  • Not for kitchen use; use model #TMAFC or #TMUL for drinking/cooking water applications; this product produces perfect drinking water, however at a slow rate better suited for drip systems or filling reservoirs overnight

Can you drink the water from this filter, and why did the description say not for drinking and cooking use?

I will need water with out calcium and magnesium for my humidifiers. Is there anyway to bypass the re-mineralization?

Am I going to have to buy a whole Nother system for my humidifiers?
Asked by: GiftedShrub
Since the HydroGardener Pro system does not have a storage tank, you can fit a Tee on the line before the Artesian filter to get the highly pure water before its remineralized. However the amount of cal/mag the system adds shouldn't' be an issue for most humidifiers. I have 3 humidifiers (1 gallon each) at home and I use the water from my Full Contact Artesian model to good effect. The difference between the systems is that The Full Contact model adds 2x more minerals and is designed for kitchen undersink use, comes with a RO faucet and storage tank; and the HydroGardener is intended to be hooked up to a hydroponics reservoir or drip system. Both produce delicious pure water suitable for human, pet and plant consumption.

How often do you have to service the section of the filter system that adds calcium and magnesuim back to the water?
Asked by: Wes
All three filters including the Artesian remineralization filter should be changed annually, or 2500 gallons, or sooner if needed, when the system is used as directed. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Perfect-Water-Technologies-HydroGardener-Pro-Replacement-Water-Filter-Change-Set-ISet-TMA-HGP/203514860?MERCH=REC-_-PIPHorizontal1_rr-_-203514853-_-203514860-_-N

I understand there is a 1:1 water to waste ratio- please explain- is there excess water that needs to drain off the system, or is this just the sediment that accumulates in the filters? Or something else all together? Thanks~

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best tasting water ever super easy installation, I originally purchased this system for my aerocurrent hydroponics system, but after tasting the water I also use it for all my drinking water needs as well. the water tastes better than any bottled water or R.O. water that I have tried. good fill time too. I can fill my 45 gal system with in a few hours. easy filter change outs is great. taste of the water is amazing. most R.O. water has no taste at all, this water has great taste. highly recommend this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent purchase Installation was very quick and easy, the product came with a variety of options for hooking up to water sources and could easily fill reservoirs overnight. The tubing is very common and makes for easy modifications if desired. I tested the water with a combination ph/ec/tds meter and found the water to be as advertised, completely clean except for the added cal/mag. It was perfect for my moderately sized needs. I added a float valve and no longer have to manually track water levels. The water flow comes in squirts, If you want something for your kitchen faucet get the one with a tank, but this is perfect for gardens with reservoirs that can be filled overnight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly perfect water I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to install. The directions were simple and had photos to match. The difference in our garden has been huge. Flowers were noticeably larger and much more vibrant. I never had much of a green thumb and now I do. This was a great purchase. Thank you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great and efficient Works exactly as the box says it does. It gives about a 2:1 ratio (RO water:waste). It takes about a half hour to fill a 5 gallon bucket. The ppm of the water is always around 30 ppm! Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Was looking for a system that was easy to install under the sink that I could use for plants and also drinking water. This system was simple to install, takes up little space, and the filters are a breeze to change. Where I live we have very hard water so the iron filter works great! Would recommend system to others.
