My floor had been put in before I moved into my apartment and it is full of deep scratches from moving furniture.

How do I pick the color of the putty?
Asked by: Marina
Thank you for your interest in Pergo. I would compare the floor you have with what is available at Home Depot. Whatever is closest to your current floor should list a matching putty and you can use that.

I have an unopened, sealed tube of finishing putty #45640, bought 8/2004. Can I still use it to repair a damaged spot in the kitchen floor?

Asked by: Anonymous
Open the tube and insure you see no lumps or separation or hard spots. If none proceed with filling in if damaged

Customer Reviews

1 oz. Laminate Finishing Putty is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not perfect, but a big improvement. I am doing a budget conscious remodel - Removed old carpet in living room and bedroom to find laminate underneath. Staple holes and tack strip nail holes were mostly contained to the perimeter and doorways. Decided to give this product a try before ripping up the old laminate and installing new, and I'm very happy I did. It's not perfect but it looks great. - A little goes a long way, I needed only 1 tube. - Did not have much of an issue with shrinkage when dry, but I did not skimp on putty and tried to work it into the holes with the corner of the putty knife. - Took roughly 20 hours over a few days to complete this project. - Required a lot of time on hands and knees. - If you have the time / patience / attention to detail, but not the money, its worth giving this a try before spending a lot of money on new floors. * If you have a smaller patch job, I would definitely recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The putty tube broke open on the squeeze end the first time I squeezed it, so I couldn't re-use it. The putty tube broke open when I first used it, so I could only use it once. And it didn't blend in well with the wood laminate floor.
