I bought this pattern because it has a mixture of both dark and light. I put this floor in a trailer in Florida and found out that most experts do not recommend real wood, but recommend laminate..
I help put in Pergo before, but this is the first time I actually did it by myself. I would say, the first few pieces are the hardest with a quick learning curve. If you hit the laminate too hard it will mess up the edges. For me, the laminate only being 8mm thick help me go under doors with out having to trim the door. I will say, Pergo messed up the pattern on two pieces out of 500 feet, so you may never get a bad piece.. The pattern would change at one end about 1/2" in length, which makes it look like a mistake. I love the random pattern Young Pecan makes. I think you can only buy this pattern at Home Depot.
The owner, my mother loves the finished product and is very happy with the results and so am I.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mplsauna Great product for DIY'ers
After having a great experience with the in-store Pergo display - we found this particular finish online and on sale. The staff at our Fridley, MN store did a great job helping us get a "real feel" for the product and not just online photos. Shipping and delivery came to our home for free and with ease. We installed it ourselves in one Saturday (with fine cuts and trim to follow later on). My husband did build a custom tool that allowed him to snug the boards together using it and a rubber mallet. This product is slightly rosey in low light - but golden in daylight with a nice variant in texture and color. I have noticed that spots and splotches show up - but clean up easily. I have two toddlers - so there are a lot of spots. Smooth, warm surface for them to play on though.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DYIgrandma Best flooring ever!
I love this flooring! It looks great with its nostalgic look in my older home. And, the "reddish" color works perfectly with my red dirt and two big dogs who refuse to wipe their feet! Sadly, it has been discontinued, but I'm very happy I bought enough for my project with one spare box for any future repairs.

The floor is great. Like all laminate/wood floors, it shows dirt and dust but that should not deter someone from purchasing the product. The floor feels nice and was a breeze to install. I am purchasing this floor for all of my bedrooms.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tonia Looks beautiful and easy to install
This floor took about 2 days to put down in a 20x13 living room. My husband did it himself. After putting it down it transformed my room, looks luxurious and cleaning is so easy. It doesn't smudge easily either! with a little damp mop, clean up is a breeze for that occasional smudge made by the little ones or the dog. I definitely would recommend this and for the price you can't go wrong! It gives that expensive look without spending a fortune!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nate Very Nice Product
Found this product on sale at local Home Depot and used it for flooring on two rooms on my house that is a major fixer upper. It goes down really easy. In fact my girlfriend did most of the snapping the floor together, while I did the measuring and cutting. All you need is a block and a hammer to tap the boards together and they fit snuggly. We used a piece of scrap 2x4 and a rubber mallet, but Home Depot does provide an installation kit with the required tools. I just did not feet like spending the extra money on things that are easily improvised. Will give a little warning to be careful with your tapping block, because if you let it ride up, it can damage the flooring slightly. This happened a time or two with us, but the damage was barely noticeable. Basically its very hard to even find the damage now that the whole floor is installed. We have only had the floor down a couple of weeks, but it is holding up well to my heavy construction traffic so far. My girlfriend and I are extremely happy with the product. It took us about five hours to do two rooms, including laying the underlayment and some complex cuts around corners. A word of advise, the transitions for this product are a different brand name, not Pergo, just search for Nostalgic Oak and it should match. It worked perfectly for us.

It goes down easily but the tolerances are sloppy. The joints do not click together tightly and they are uneven so they rub on each other making a lot of noise when walked on.

This is a fine product that looks good and is easy to install with the proper tools.
