Laminates can be installed in bathrooms. However there are special instructions and maintenance issue required. Before installing visit pergo.com/installation tab/ install essentials link.
Regarding bathtub overflow, Laminates are water resistant not water proof. Any water spilled on the floor must be promptly removed within 30 minutes.

Answer:
You are not trying to achive a "pattern match" the planks .
Just like as a stone is not perfect, the joints are made to look random,
There are full instruction in the case.

Presto Tumbled Marble 8 mm Thick x 7-5/8 in. W x 47-1/2 in. L Laminate Flooring (20.10 sq. ft./ case)-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Many damaged boards Beware! The Pergo beige tumbled marble flooring has been discontinued! We found this out AFTER special ordering 9 boxes for our contracted kitchen renovation. Upon inspection many of the boards were defective - either missing the grooves at the end of the boards or the grooves not cut in a uniform manner. Needless to say we have to pick out another floor. Our contracted renovation is on hold. I am very disappointed with the quality of this Pergo product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best floor we've ever had and we've had 'em all! We've had hardwood, tile, slate, and vinyl, but our Pergo tumbled marble outshines them all! It looks great, is easy to clean, and it's really user-friendly. That is, I am a total foodie and spend hours in the kitchen, even full days, and never get tired feet, sore back, etc from standing. Also, we've had very little breakage when we've dropped glass items on the floor. Unbelievably, we've even dropped wine glasses on the floor and had them bounce without breaking. Can't say enough good about the floor. And the price can't be beat. We're building a new house and putting it in the kitchen because we've had such great experience with the floor in our current house.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for Kitchens or Baths Installed this floor three years ago in kitchen. NEVER will use again!!! Dishwasher gave out and leaked. Turned off water immediately but the water got under the floating Pergo floor. Now all the edges are curling and the floor needs to go. Wouldn't you think a tile design floor would be appropriate for a kitchen? Read the warranty CLOSELY. Water leaks are NOT covered!! If you have a sink or dishwasher in your kitchen, STAY AWAY from PERGO laminates.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some of the planks had defects where the laminate didn't go to the end of the plank. The floor looks good and I am happy with it. I installed the laminate in a bathroom that had quite a few nooks and crannies and I had to do quite a bit of cutting. One of the planks I installed, which required a number of difficult cuts, had a defect that I didn't realize until after I installed it. I had to remove it and re-cut and re-install. I would reccommend that each plank is inspected prior to installation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Install Instructions need improvements Planks were different, there were I think 4 different patterns and it was hard to tell which was the #1 pattern and which was #2, #3, or #4. The patterns should have been clearly marked because the instructions showed to lay #1 down, then #2 under it, not next to it. The pictures seem to imply that the first row would end with a cut piece and you use the 2nd half of the cut piece for the 1st piece in the next row, but then the picture to lay #2 under #1 does not make sense in terms of order either. They were not stamped with a number on the under side either. So this was confusing and until 2 boxes were layed out, we didn't see that the patterned grout line was going on a zipzag diagonal that brought your eye directly to a corner. So then we had to pull it up again, and adjust it. I also do not know why each plank is such an odd size. Granted the installation states to use spacers that are 1/4in between the wall and short edge of the planks, and the 47 and 1/2 in length makes sense. But there should be a 1/4 in between the wall and the long edge, so the 7 and 5/8 does not work, because 7 and 5/8ths plus 1/4 spacer plus another 1.4 on the other side makes the flooring 8 and 1/8th wide. Maybe mm measurements work out better, I didn't review those for accuracy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from difficult to lay out The random widths of the faux tiles in each piece makes it difficult to arrange in order to stagger the faux grout lines while also avoiding replication of pattern in the same area. I much prefer the DuPont product but the tumbled marble pattern fit the decor better than anything DuPont had.
