Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Pergo. Surface durability, including wear and scratch resistance are the same for Pergo XP and Pergo Outlast+. Outlast+ also includes SpillProtect24 that defends against household spills for up to 24 hours.

Although the surface may resist scratches, the moment someone spills something on the floor, the seams between the boards will swell up. If you have a family, you know that spills are unavoidable. I've only had this product installed for a few months and already have two areas where the edges are swollen and it looks terrible. I'll probably be ripping this out and replacing it in a year after a couple more spills. Avoid this if you have a family. Worst flooring decision I've ever made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Floor came out great I installed this around my basement bar. My wife and I chose this look because it resembled real wood well while not looking cheap or too rustic. It took about 5 boxes for the 75 sq ft. I laid a waterproof membrane down and spent 5 hours laying the floor. The toughest part of the install was keeping the floor from moving around as you stepped on a off of it but once I laid enough boards it was more stable. We dont use the area much and have no issues with about a year and a half of it being down. Love the look and value compared to tile. The quarter round meant for this flooring was pretty cheaply veneered so we went with a different but similar looking type. Now I just need to install a new bar top.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pergo XP Very disappointed in this product as I have laid Pergo in 2 houses and have been very satisfied with the quality of the product. This was comparable to a much cheaper laminate flooring that you would purchase at a discount store. This product has chipped while cutting and is overall not worth the money. Not sure what has occurred because I always was very happy with the Pergo flooring.

There were a couple of chipped boards in the 16 boxwes I purchased and at 33 bucks a box I wasn't thrilled about that

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable After careful research, we installed about 1000 square feet of special order Bristol Chestnut Pergo XP in Dec 2011 and it already looks terrible... After only a few months! Pergo has refused to stand behind their product and we're stuck with a junk floor that we will be replacing as soon as possible. We saved for YEARS to replace our carpet with a long lasting, nice flooring product. We're heart-sick about it. The floor has chipped and dented with the smallest of household items like plates and toys being dropped on it. We chose this floor, which is not cheap, because it was supposed to be extremely durable. The warranty seemed to back that up. Well, it seems the warranty doesn't matter when it comes to the finish durability. SO disappointing. We will be posting demonstration videos of how this stuff dents and chips on You Tube in the next week. I absolutely don't want to see this happen to anyone else.
