Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not durable After careful research, we installed about 1000 square feet of special order Bristol Chestnut Pergo XP in Dec 2011 and it already looks terrible... After only a few months! Pergo has refused to stand behind their product and we're stuck with a junk floor that we will be replacing as soon as possible. We saved for YEARS to replace our carpet with a long lasting, nice flooring product. We're heart-sick about it. The floor has chipped and dented with the smallest of household items like plates and toys being dropped on it. We chose this floor, which is not cheap, because it was supposed to be extremely durable. The warranty seemed to back that up. Well, it seems the warranty doesn't matter when it comes to the finish durability. SO disappointing. We will be posting demonstration videos of how this stuff dents and chips on You Tube in the next week. I absolutely don't want to see this happen to anyone else. May 9, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A great product Pergo XP is terrific. We would rate it perfect except for a minor manufacturing flaw found in a handful of boards. Our small project included a closet of unusual proportions, with many odd angles, which required many cuts. This was a blessing because it allowed us to use about 6 boards which arrived with defective plastic snaps and would have been useless otherwise. The plastic "lock" design needs to be reviewed by Pergo. Also, two cartons arrived with freight damage to the corners. We were able to use these boards by planning our cuts very carefully. Admittedly, these are minor irritants but for amateurs like us they cause some anxiety. More experienced installers would breeze past these flaws. As it turned out, judicious cutting and some improvisation used up all but two boards from a 200 sq. ft. project, significantly better than wasting a case. Allowing 5% - 10% extra when ordering is important. The finished product looks terrific and we are happy and smarter. February 7, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Would highly recommend!! Product has a very unique look and is very easy to install. Appears to be durable at this point but will not know for sure until after greater exposure to traffic. VERY little waste associated with the planks. I have gone through roughly 25 boxes and only had two planks where there were small defects. I am using this in a basement but would not hesitate to use this on main floors. January 12, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really classed up the joint! My pretty handy father and my wannabe DIY self installed this in my 15x20 living room over the course of two days. Much of the time was spent measuring and cutting the odd angles around the four doorways and the stairs, but that would be the case with any product. Once I got into the flow of snapping the pieces together it could not have been easier. The Pergo really adds a "rich" look to the room. I've since managed to put a small ding in one piece when I accidentally sent a heavy object flying down the stairs before landing on the new floor, but it did much more damage to the drywall than it did to the floor. This Pergo passed that durability test! January 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very happy with the product. The floor looks fantastic in our home. Home depot installation was done within the time promised and the workmanship was excellent. January 13, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not durable 2 Like thehfamily from Gig Harbor WA, we also did not find this product durable. We purchased 450 sqft of Pergo XP Bristol Chesnut. After installing 75% of the floor, we like the look and the texture...but the flooring dented and chipped when I twice dropped my tape measure while kneeling during installation (approx. height of 1ft). I can only imagine how it will be in a few months. I'll have to ban my kids from dropping anything on this floor...yeah right! Additionally, the plastic insert on short side of plank kept getting crushed and not locking with adjacent plank (step #13 in instructions). I used alternative tap method (step #14) which resulted in a tight fit, but it damaged the lip on the long side as evidenced by the particulate being generated. This results in a decreased seal when I had to reassemble planks, sometimes having to glue adjacent planks to prevent wasting a whole plank. Lastly, we expected the hollow sound but the plank's attached 2mm padding does not prevent the sound of the 6 mil vapor barrier crinkling as we walk on it. My wife cannot stand this sound and I'll now have to pull up the entire floor to smooth out the vapor barrier and install additional padding without the guarantee that the joints will seal correctly. We bought this floor for its reputed durability and ease of installation...we are also heartsick and expect Pergo not to stand behind their product. What to do with 10 unopened boxes? Cut my losses or push ahead and purchase additional boxes to replace planks with a damaged seal when I reassemble?...arghh! December 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loving it so far! We had about 500 square feet of this installed in May. I wanted to wait for awhile before writing my review. First, I love that the color goes with both the light and dark wood in my home. Secondly, the installers contracted by Home Depot out of Stow, Ohio did a super job. The flooring really looks as good as day one. We have a dog that is yellow lab, German shepherd mix and 2 kids...I must admit for the first several weeks I was a nervous wreck, but I have yet to have any concerns with this floor. As others have mentioned some boards were scraped on edges out of the box, but we had very little waste. We did the matching quarter round and I am pleased with the results. I researched this project thoroughly before plunking down the money I had been saving. It has been a good purchase for us. September 29, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very satisfied Product looks great! I hired a professional installer and he did not have any issues while installing. Looks like natural wood floor, but it is easier to maintain. It has a surface texture adding a great look and feel April 8, 2014
