The end result was fantastic. I was a little disappointed in the tab system and how the pieces "clicked" together. Considering it was Pergo XP, I expected it to go together a little easier. It was tough to tap together without damaging the flooring. We installed over 700 s.f. and it looks fantastic. It was nice that I could get matching trim pieces to handle the top stair and transition to other flooring. It was a little frustrating that some Home Depots carry this floor in stock and some don't, so we had special order it from the warehouse. But, we were able to return any unused boxes to our local store, even though they don't stock it.

Floors turned out great. Install was easy. Installed upstairs and padding underneath helps a lot-no echos when walking!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clare Good puppy-proof Pergo!
We bought this when we were looking for something with high ratings that fit the budget, was easy to install and would be resistant to dog's claws. The dark color turned out to be richer than we thought and we love it. We didn't do the installation but the installers said that this was super easy.
The only reason I couldn't give this product 5 stars is due to process defect in the finish. The installer found that some boxes contained boards with white patches or splatters. These were randomly found and not isolated to a few boxes. Unfortunately for us, he had installed 3 of these defective boards and completed one level before he noticed the problem. Thankfully, Home Depot acknowledged the problem and made the return process easy in the store. The number of defective finished board filled over 3 boxes out of the ~70 boxes that we used.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DIYGirl Beautiful and great quality
This flooring looks beautiful in my living room. It's very simple to clean with damp microfiber cloth. I was looking for flooring that would have the look of hardwood with some shine, but not glossy. This is it. The only issue we had was with installation. It did not click together as other kinds of flooring we've used did. It was much harder to put together and during installation, it would come apart. Once the flooring was completed in the room, it stays together perfectly fine.

I m first time home owner and doing floor for the first time also, so abusolutely no experience. I am also a perfectionist, so spent a looot time comparing. I was not sure if its gonna look beautiful until the last minute. I hired homedepot contactor to install it and when it was done - I WAS THRILLED!!!! It's so beautiful!!! Looking elegant, highend, and very good quaility!!!! Thats exactly my type, so i am in love with pergo and this coffee colored floor! I dropped real wood furniture and my furniture got a dent but the floor was nothing damaged. I have two cats, and its so far no scratches or anything after four months. I also found it very easy to clean- i just spray the wood/laminate cleaner, any brand, and mop it. Its very coffee color and i think its a little bit dark- i would go with the other popular pergo the lighter one next time, but for now i am loving this rich looking also. I think it goes well if you like light color wall, and have enough light in your house. I recommend it to anyone prefers a darker floor, coz it looks so expensive and good.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ZE First time laying laminate... Love this flooring!!
I just bought a house built in 1994, which has never been updated. Still had what appeared to be original carpet. Before moving in, I wanted to rip out the carpet in the dining room and living room, to replace with laminate flooring. After a lot of research, and ordering a few samples, I opted to go with the 10mm Handscraped Hickory.
After tearing up the carpet and padding, I laid down 1/4" underlayment so the new floor would match the existing kitchen flooring (2 layers of underlayment and 2 layers of vinyl floor). I also decided to dress up the dining room a bit, and added a chair rail and painted.
Next step was flooring! This was the first time that I've laid flooring, but it was pretty straight forward. Do yourself a favor and read the instructions a few times. Also search Youtube for videos!! once you get the technique down, its pretty simple! I have a table saw, miter saw, and handheld jigsaw, so that certainly helped, but the same could be achieved using a circular saw and guide rail. In addition to power tools, be sure to have a dead-blow mallet, solid blocking to tap the flooring in place, a pull bar, and the wall spacers. Those last 3 can be bought together in an installation kit.
I read another couple reviews condemning this flooring, but from their pictures I can tell without a doubt that it was not installed correctly (even though they claim professionals did the job).
I would absolutely recommend this flooring to a friend, and actually my buddy who was helping me took a few pictures while we were installing it, and sent them to his wife.

This flooring was easy to install and is great because it looks similar to wood but is more dog friendly.
