The end result was fantastic. I was a little disappointed in the tab system and how the pieces "clicked" together. Considering it was Pergo XP, I expected it to go together a little easier. It was tough to tap together without damaging the flooring. We installed over 700 s.f. and it looks fantastic. It was nice that I could get matching trim pieces to handle the top stair and transition to other flooring. It was a little frustrating that some Home Depots carry this floor in stock and some don't, so we had special order it from the warehouse. But, we were able to return any unused boxes to our local store, even though they don't stock it.

I m first time home owner and doing floor for the first time also, so abusolutely no experience. I am also a perfectionist, so spent a looot time comparing. I was not sure if its gonna look beautiful until the last minute. I hired homedepot contactor to install it and when it was done - I WAS THRILLED!!!! It's so beautiful!!! Looking elegant, highend, and very good quaility!!!! Thats exactly my type, so i am in love with pergo and this coffee colored floor! I dropped real wood furniture and my furniture got a dent but the floor was nothing damaged. I have two cats, and its so far no scratches or anything after four months. I also found it very easy to clean- i just spray the wood/laminate cleaner, any brand, and mop it. Its very coffee color and i think its a little bit dark- i would go with the other popular pergo the lighter one next time, but for now i am loving this rich looking also. I think it goes well if you like light color wall, and have enough light in your house. I recommend it to anyone prefers a darker floor, coz it looks so expensive and good.

This flooring was easy to install and is great because it looks similar to wood but is more dog friendly.

Many of the boards were missing the finish/stain- on average 1 plank per box and a few boxes had 3 or more bad planks. Very disappointing for the price.

I was ready to get rid of some nasty looking carpet in my den and decided on laminate flooring. I visited the store and picked out the Pergo XP Coffee Handscraped Hickory 10MM. I loved the dark color and the fact that it had a backing attached to it. I ordered on line. My contractor was able to pick it up from the store for me and then installed without any problem. I ordered one extra box just in case and I was able to return it to the store without a problem as they didn't need it. The end result is that the room looks so warm and inviting. It's not a room I walk thru to get to another room but is where I have my computer and TV so I'm in it everyday. I do have an area rug which takes up quite of bit of the room so it's softens the sound. So far it's looking great. The cleaning girls said they have many clients with laminate floors and used a damp mop with a little vinegar in a bucket of water to clean it. It's a wonderful update to the room. The transition piece to the tile in my foyer also looks good and matched perfectly.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jim The water resistance actually worked!
The produce looks really nice and when a freezer leaked a huge puddle while on vacation we came home and thought the floor was ruined, after we moped up the water, 5 days later the floor returned to its shape as though nothing had happened, looks really good, was difficult to install for an amature

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ZE First time laying laminate... Love this flooring!!
I just bought a house built in 1994, which has never been updated. Still had what appeared to be original carpet. Before moving in, I wanted to rip out the carpet in the dining room and living room, to replace with laminate flooring. After a lot of research, and ordering a few samples, I opted to go with the 10mm Handscraped Hickory.
After tearing up the carpet and padding, I laid down 1/4" underlayment so the new floor would match the existing kitchen flooring (2 layers of underlayment and 2 layers of vinyl floor). I also decided to dress up the dining room a bit, and added a chair rail and painted.
Next step was flooring! This was the first time that I've laid flooring, but it was pretty straight forward. Do yourself a favor and read the instructions a few times. Also search Youtube for videos!! once you get the technique down, its pretty simple! I have a table saw, miter saw, and handheld jigsaw, so that certainly helped, but the same could be achieved using a circular saw and guide rail. In addition to power tools, be sure to have a dead-blow mallet, solid blocking to tap the flooring in place, a pull bar, and the wall spacers. Those last 3 can be bought together in an installation kit.
I read another couple reviews condemning this flooring, but from their pictures I can tell without a doubt that it was not installed correctly (even though they claim professionals did the job).
I would absolutely recommend this flooring to a friend, and actually my buddy who was helping me took a few pictures while we were installing it, and sent them to his wife.
