I see that this model of pergo has underlayment attached to it, but is the underlayment a sufficient moisture barrier?

Asked by: Jon
Thank you for contacting Pergo. This attached underlayment contains no moisture resistant properties. An additional moisture barrier would need to be purchased for concrete floor installations.

Even with the built in underlayment, would a vapor barrier still be needed for an install on a concrete floor?

Asked by: Joe
Thank you for your interest in Pergo. The attached padding has no moisture resistance properties so a vapor/moisture barrier would be required on a concrete subfloor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very durable with 2 big dogs We are halfway through the installation of this flooring. We just ordered a second pallet and did "ship to store", both times it arrived in 5 business days (they originally estimated 10 days). It is very easy to install and so far we have been impressed with the durability - we have 2 big labs that like to run around the house and drop their bones on the floor - no scratches or dents to be seen. When researching what to get, we had a lot of people tell us that hardwood flooring was the way to go for improving the value of our home. We have friends that installed hardwood flooring in their home, and within weeks they were starting to see dents and scratches from their big dog. My thought was, what is the point of paying all the money for hardwood, if it going to get beat up by our pets and then if we go to sell the house in several years, it becomes a problem because the floors look bad. Maybe laminate flooring won't increase the value of our home as much as hardwood, but at least if we go to sell in a few years it will still look like new and it is still a huge improvement over the dirty carpet that we have been living with. If you are debating whether to get the 10mm or the 12mm, I would opt for the 12mm - I am very happy with the thickness, it is a lot more forgiving during installation. My brother installed a 7-8mm thickness laminate in their home and they had to do a lot of extra prep work to make sure that the sub-flooring was perfectly flat and that there were no bumps or other irregularities, otherwise it would be noticeable after the flooring was installed on top of it. With the much thicker 12mm laminate, this was not an issue for us.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great durability I bought long time ago and still looking like a new! Like a real hardwood floor but way way cheaper! I'll go always with Pergo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product and easily assembled My wife researched laminated flooring before making this purchase. Pergo is not the cheapest but it has a good reputation and you get what you pay for. We did this project ourselves with out any major problems. My only problem with this particular product is that the tongue and groove panels are very easily broke during the assembly process and that the underside is made of pressed hardboard. The reason for purchasing the Pergo brand over the cheaper brand was because we have a large dog and we only wanted to do this project one time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from XP Pergo Laminate Flooring Love the look of the flooring, but installation very difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the color We already have hardwood floors in our house so I thought I knew what to expect. Wrong! This new floor is a dream to care for. So easy it is unbelievable. The color is my fave though. Our other hardwood floors are light colors. So to mix it up a bit I decided on dark. As usual I was right, even my husband had to admit it! The dark color is not only a great color but it looks so much like real hardwood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect floor for us. We waited for several years to replace our kitchen and dining room floors. It was a large open space and with small, active grandchildren and two dogs we had to get this right. We are absolutely pleased with our choice and can' t imagine life before Pergo.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from love the color! I bought this a few months ago for the kitchen. Color is great but we are still struggling with installation. Cannot get it together. Am very disappointed.
