Answer:
Tony, our installer left the baseboards in place, where they weren't damaged, and added a "quarter round" to fill the 3/8" gap between the flooring's end and the wall. It's like a tubular length of wood, cut lengthwise so it fits up against the 90 degree angle of the floor to wall.

Answer:
You can install the flooring up to the existing molding and then put a smaller molding (like 1/4 round) on top of the edge between the two.

Answer:
You need a 1/2" gap from the wall or molding to allow for expansion and contraction with changing weather conditions. I was able to leave my baseboard in place because it did not extend to the floor since originally we had carpet in the room. I kept the floor 3/8" from the baseboard and when completed I installed a 3/4" quarter round molding to cover the gap. See attached photos.

Answer:
Hi Tony,
This flooring requires a 1/4 inch gap around the room for expansion.
You could install it with the existing base molding in place and use 1/2 inch quarter round molding to cover the gap.
You would need to attach the quarter round molding to the base molding as the flooring must be allowed to expand and contract.

I don't believe it includes the tab, but I'd check with the store or manufacturer if I were you. Also I bought a couple boxes extra to account for odd corners, fits or matches, so it shouldn't matter (unless your floor is really large!).

I ordered on-line and shipped to my local store. It was cheaper than purchase in the store (plus I picked a rare color/design) and I didn't have to worry about delivery to my home while I was away at work.

I installed this brand in my kitchen about 10 years ago. It still looks fine.
I do notice that the edges of the planks do tend to raise up a little from having water spilled and using too much water when mopping. This was noted in the product guide and I expected this.
I think this specific type will be better since it is a higher quality that what I have now.
Just be sure to clean up anything

Just be sure to clean up anything spilled on the floor and clean it with very little water.

Thank you for contacting Pergo. Laminate floors are water-resistant, they are not waterproof. Moisture related incidents should be cleaned up within 30 minutes to avoid permanent damage.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 110 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality product I typically don't ever review products, but felt that I needed to for this one, especially since previous reviews helped us so much. We installed this in our 500 square foot basement/den living area. It's perfect! We have had so many compliments on it; it seems durable and is easy to clean so far (I spilled a few paint drops and it came right up, even when it was a little dry). It was our first time ever installing flooring, and with the help of a family friend, we were able to do it relatively quickly. I'm really happy with it. It's definitely a different color than the photo online. It's more of an orange/amber color. But it's very pretty and looks similar to real wood. We also ordered the Grand oak T-molding and quarter round and it all matches beautifully. The installation kit was extremely handy too. All around, we are very pleased, thanks Home Depot! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pergo flooring We have purchased pergo flooring in the past with no problems. The packaging of the flooring planks this time, were damaged and cheap!. Therefore the ends were chipped on the planks of the flooring.Because ends of the flooring planks had to be cut to fit, we made it work. We also had some of the flooring planks with damaged underlayment foam. I will not buy this product again. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great appears very water resistant We put this in three bedrooms. Just looking at it, and feeling the surface, you would not be able to tell it is not hardwood flooring. We were worried because one of the rooms appeared to have a moisture problem along one wall. As a test, I took one of the scraps and left it outside for a week (in the Florida summer, ie rains almost every afternoon). After a week I saw no sign of swelling or buckling. I took another scarp and left it floating in water for 24 hours. Again, no sign of swelling or buckling. I am amazed and no longer at all concerned about the moisture issue. The only down side it the floor does not very hollow - that is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. July 26, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Darker than online image We wanted a light finish to match our new birch cabinets and selected Grand Oak based on the image displayed on the Home Depot web page. In fact, Grand Oak is a dark finish. We could exchange it but the amount of time and effort involved in getting the flooring to the job site makes an exchange prohibitively expensive and we will have to live with what we received. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product I initially purchased laminate from Allen and Roth because it matched my existing hardwood floors. Installation was a nightmare. Did not "lock" properly and any attempt to drive into place resulted in damaged edges. Completed one room but was not satisfied. Purchased Pergo and difference was night and day. Much better quality and installation was 10 times easier than Allen and Roth. Locks into place and will take a little "pounding" when necessary (such as under door frames) without damaging edges. Very pleased with finished product. I wish had purchased Pergo for my first room. February 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Floor I am so in love with this flooring. We have it installed in our living room and both upstairs bedrooms. It was so easy to order and was delivered to our home quickly. It was easy to install and looks amazing! February 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pergo Products Getting Better and Better I installed this Pergo product in my kitchen 4 years ago and the quality and integrity of this product withstood the rigors of daily living. After making some modification to the kitchen, I needed replacement pieces and hoped that Pergo still made this product. They did and its quality has only improved over the years. August 3, 2016
