We didn't get around to sealing our floors, and we have to be VERY careful not to leave water on the floor, or the cracks between the boards can swell up and ruin that section. Somehow a little water got on the floor just after installation, before we had the furniture moved back in place and could easily see the floor, and there's a small strip where the edge of a board swelled up. Answer:
Latex is not a component of laminate flooring however several sealants to fill the expansion gaps along the perimeter used to prevent moisture intrusion under the flooring can have latex content. We recommend a 100% silicon sealant as it will not dry out, and better suited to remain pliable and secure.

It's not likely that any customer would know. Maybe if you contact Pergo, they'd release that info.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Pergo. Since you are inquiring about the XP brand for both floors, there should be no problem with the two locking together.

Customer Reviews

XP Grand Oak 10 mm Thick x 7-5/8 in. Wide x 47-5/8 in. Length Laminate Flooring (20.25 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 141.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product I typically don't ever review products, but felt that I needed to for this one, especially since previous reviews helped us so much. We installed this in our 500 square foot basement/den living area. It's perfect! We have had so many compliments on it; it seems durable and is easy to clean so far (I spilled a few paint drops and it came right up, even when it was a little dry). It was our first time ever installing flooring, and with the help of a family friend, we were able to do it relatively quickly. I'm really happy with it. It's definitely a different color than the photo online. It's more of an orange/amber color. But it's very pretty and looks similar to real wood. We also ordered the Grand oak T-molding and quarter round and it all matches beautifully. The installation kit was extremely handy too. All around, we are very pleased, thanks Home Depot!

The quality of this flooring is what we expected but a bit darker than it shows on the online sample. We put it in a remodeled bathroom and it went down easily and looks rich. We are very satisfied. Thanks to Home Depot, and their helpful staff we have a nice new lovely bathroom.

I purchased this product to put in a small 2nd floor bedroom which is 11' X 11' only. Before putting down the laminate, I used and placed the recommended 3mm vapor barrier pre-floor covering. Using this foldable pre-made vapor barrier is very easy, and went down in less than 30 minutes. The Pergo flooring took a weekend, but the results are excellent. The flooring looks great, feels tough, and locks together. You will need to use the wall spacers to provide enough room for expansion, and a good quality table saw to cut some of the boards to appropriate length. If you follow the directions or look at a YouTube video things should go well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great appears very water resistant We put this in three bedrooms. Just looking at it, and feeling the surface, you would not be able to tell it is not hardwood flooring. We were worried because one of the rooms appeared to have a moisture problem along one wall. As a test, I took one of the scraps and left it outside for a week (in the Florida summer, ie rains almost every afternoon). After a week I saw no sign of swelling or buckling. I took another scarp and left it floating in water for 24 hours. Again, no sign of swelling or buckling. I am amazed and no longer at all concerned about the moisture issue. The only down side it the floor does not very hollow - that is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

After installing it my first thought was "not impressed". The pieces didn't snap together. I had to push fairly hard to work each piece into the joint and yes I was working to the instructions and going in at an angle. I also found the side joints to be uneven, there was definitely a very small step between pieces that you can feel with bare feet. I have worked with other laminates (from Costco of all places) and did not have any of these poor quality issues. I have to say it does look good when looking down on it but up close I was expecting a better fit from Pergo, I just hope it holds up over time. I did like that it had the underlayment already attached to it. I would probably look at other brands in the future.

The way you have to lift the whole row of flooring to lock it in is absolutely impractical. We had a huge floor area and had to return the product as it did not lock properly and there were huge gaps. Terrible design. We had the old setup in our dining room (Pergo August oak from a few years ago) and we loved it. This is terrible. Can't imagine how people successfully install it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pergo flooring We have purchased pergo flooring in the past with no problems. The packaging of the flooring planks this time, were damaged and cheap!. Therefore the ends were chipped on the planks of the flooring.Because ends of the flooring planks had to be cut to fit, we made it work. We also had some of the flooring planks with damaged underlayment foam. I will not buy this product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pergo Products Getting Better and Better I installed this Pergo product in my kitchen 4 years ago and the quality and integrity of this product withstood the rigors of daily living. After making some modification to the kitchen, I needed replacement pieces and hoped that Pergo still made this product. They did and its quality has only improved over the years.
