Answer:
I installed mine directly on the subfloor. There should not be any problem with particle board as long as it well fastened down and the joints are uniform.

Hi. Would you recommend using a foam underlayment with this laminate? Or is the 2 mm underlayment built in enough? Thx

Answer:
Extra underlayment is not needed. The underlayment that is attached is very good for deadening sound.

I am installing over a plywood subfloor. The laminate has the attached underlayment. Was wondering if a vapor barrier is still required? Thanks.

Answer:
The instructions state if it is being put down over concrete or other possible damp location it would need the vapor barrier. This material will absorb moisture.

Answer:
There are extra precautions that would need to be completed to help seal the joints. If water is able to soak into the joints it will degrade and make the board swell. In wet areas I would recommend some type of vinyl tile or planks.

Thank you for your interest in Pergo. Pergo floors are water-resistant, however special precautions should be used when installing in some areas such as bathrooms with showers or mudrooms.
Please read this installation guide for a full list of precautions.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful and hardy Home Depot installed. Excellent job. It looks very rich and ties the room together. Good riddance to the white carpet that was in the house. June 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pergo purchase Had Pergo laminate floors for over 20 years before this remodel, looked as good as the day it was installed. Could not match the existing floors purchased new Pergo to replace old and put into addition. Am hoping quality is even better now, looks great! April 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really nice looking This is a beautiful floor for a good price, and appears to be very durable. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Floor Flooring was easy to install. You do not need to be an expert in doing this yourself. Finished look was fantastic. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks Great! Installs easy. Looks like hardwood. Installs easily. It is more economical than it seems because there is much less waste than you would expect if you plan your cuts and because it comes with a built in pad. If installed over concrete, don't forget to install a heavy vapor barrier. Installed in my basement and the oak color matches up well with my late 50's hardwoods upstairs which I had recently refinished with a glossy clear coat. Use the matching Zamma grand oak molding and trim pieces for a nice finished look. January 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by looks great but packaging lets contents be damaged easily Looks good and assembly is pretty easy (make sure your floor is petty level, especially where subfloor ends meets on a floor joist). The biggest issue is the extremely thin cardboard wrapper the planks are placed in. I had 4 boxes shipped UPS and also a whole pallet. Boards in both were damaged. I have about 20 damaged boards overall. Sometimes you need a smaller piece and you can remove the damaged part and salvage the board. Disappointing that an expensive product has very poor packaging.
