Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Pergo. Pergo floors can be installed over wood, concrete, ceramic tile, tile, linoleum and vinyl sheet. We recommend the use of a 6 mil vapor barrier between the linoleum and laminate when there is a concrete subfloor.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 60 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Flooring! You might call me a floor snob. I love beautiful flooring that is easily cleaned. In my opinion, flooring can make or break a room. Home Depot installed these floors (had entire 2nd floor done, 4 bedrooms and hallway), they did a wonderful job. We asked the floor to be fitted under the trim as we did not want quarter round. They were hesitant at first, but complied and we could not be happier. This floor met all my expectations. My son is a carpenter who installs flooring, hardwood and laminate. When he walked upstairs for the first time, all he said was WOW, what a difference a good floor makes! I agree, it is beautiful. I am now doing my living room, dining room, and foyer, same brand, different shade. 5 stars + October 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase & Easy Install This flooring has a great appearance. We are remodeling our farmhouse and were not sure if the hand sawn oak was too dark, but the packages had many different color variations, textures, and it turned out great! I was able to put down a 13' x 13' bedroom by myself in 4 hours using the following tools: table saw, miter saw, rubber mallet, and rubber beater block. Also- a word of advice; lay this flooring going perpendicular to your floor joists so they can carry any small variations in the sub-flooring. The dogs sure like the floor too! July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Complete home install We spent several weeks looking at all different types of flooring, from bamboo to laminate to engineered hard wood and ultimately landed on the pergo. We loved the color, came our wonderful. We ultimately went with this as a result of reviews mentioning our durable it was. We've only had it in for a week but so far so good. We installed around 1600 square feet ourselves flowing from one room to the next and it was pretty easy. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We Love Our Floor The floor is absolutely beautiful and extremely durable. We have 2 dogs and a cat that slide across it regularly without leaving any sign of the slightest scratch. Dust mopping regularly keeps it looking brand new along with an occasional damp mopping with a little vinegar and water. It transformed the room completely. February 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We love it! We are very pleased with the Pergo XP. It was easy to assemble and looks like real wood. We are now thinking of continuing it into the kitchen because we love it so much. March 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful and easy I installed the Hand Sawn oak, which is a darker color. What a huge difference! It really goes in quickly once your floor is prepared. I installed it over concrete and used the Moisturbloc film the Pergo recommends. Here's what I learned as a first timer doing this: You really want a table saw. It will speed things up tremendously compared to hand saws and a circular saw. You will definitely need to rip a few of the pieces lengthwise, which is easy on table saw but hard with anything else. Also, a reciprocating multitool makes trim cutting super easy and accurate...worth the $150. Buy the installation kit that comes with spacers and a rubber hammering block...I think it was about $15 and I used it extensively. Last must-have is a pair of knee pads. I installed about a week ago and have enjoyed it ever since. No problems with furniture or my dog scratching it. Very easy to sweep. I keep a spray bottle of ammonia and water around for spot cleaning. May 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Flooring!! Fairly easy to assemble. Flooring took two full days to install in kitchen, living room & bathroom (~620 sq ft.) with two people. It looks absolutely stunning and completely transformed the space. Every time we have guests over, they comment on how beautiful the floors are. We have a dog and were worried about scratches and paw prints, but this floor is very durable and easy to clean. Very happy with our purchase so far! July 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value! Looks expensive! Installation was very straight forward, easy to cut. I have 2 dogs and it is holding up great! October 4, 2016
