Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Pergo. You will want to install the door before installing Pergo laminate floors. The floor will need to be separated by a transition in any opening less than 4'.

Thank you for contacting Pergo. Here are the cleaning instructions for your floor. To clean, an occasional damp (not wet) mop, quick sweeping or light vacuuming with the hard floor attachments are usually all it takes. When damp mopping, an Ideal solution is a combination of 1 gallon of water with 1 cup vinegar or ½ cup of ammonia. Be sure to squeeze the water out of the mop thoroughly before mopping, and rinse the mop frequently. A spray bottle with the same water and vinegar/ammonia solution mentioned above is a great way to spot clean between moppings.
Pergo floors must never be waxed, polished, sanded or refinished and never use a steam, wet or jet mop when cleaning. Do not use soaps, detergents, or cleaners with wax because they may leave a film, dulling the floor. Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Answer:
Thank you for contacting Pergo. We DO NOT recommend that you use a steam mop on your Pergo laminate floors as they can press water into the joints and cause permanent damage.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 286 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect love it I first installed this in my bedroom and it held up and looks great. one year later I installed it in my livingroom. I love it and get compliments all the time. Held up getting water droplets and moving furnature around without scratching. Looks like real wood. Sorry I already carpeted my other bedrooms.i would do the whole house in this! May 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pergo XP stands up to it's name This is the third time I have installed Pergo XP and I could not be happier with the quality and look of the flooring. I have used it in high residential traffic areas and it has held up fantastic. I have a dog with long nails as well. I installed it in again in my cabin that has very little heating and it has held up well as long as you give the product the recommended expansion requirement. The downside of Pergo is the transition strips and moldings. They are cheaply made and I have always used actual wood transition strips that I have modified. For the price of these transition strips (very expensive) Pergo should do something about this in keeping with the quality of the flooring. January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy install and looks great This is my third time installing "hardwood" floors over the past 20 years. The Pergo XP product has been the best quality and the easiest to install so far. Having the padding on board is a great time saver and makes for easier install and eliminates padding issues. The floor lays flat, has a soft feel and low noise. The finish appears better than most as well. We have large dogs and believe this finish will go along way in holding up against the heavy traffic. I did the master bedroom over a three day weekend, alone, with time to waste. We have another 25-30 boxes to do the living room sometime in the near future. Very happy with this product. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beauty! Beautiful floor. Fairly durable but I did have a few chipped edges during installation. May 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very satisfied My husband installed this last fall in two rooms of our house. It is beautiful - we are very pleased! We are planning to put it in our family room this summer as well. May 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pergo Highland Hickory HD installed in living/dining/kitchen area Highland Hickory ~1 year ago. One board is bulging up but the worst part is lack water proofing. Buyer beware! May 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Floor! This is a beautiful floor and we have many dogs running across it and not one scratch. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone with pets. May 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not impressed I got the Pergo XP Highland Hickory from Home Depot after a good amount of shopping around. The different sales people I talked to did the usual "look no scratches" stuff, lifetime warranty we handle everything if any warranty issues arise, great quality for kids (which I have) or pets, etc. I'm at about 3 months in now and I regret getting these floors. I've had multiple issues already, here are the two major ones. 1. Noticed today there's a huge scratch under where my recliner is. The recliner has soft plastic at the base and I also purchased and applied a felt type material to ensure my furniture wouldn't damage the floors. When they scratch the samples with keys and such to show the durability, you'd think plastic (even without the felt) would pose no risk to such a great product....WRONG. These floors are not durable. I now have to reach out to Home Depot about this which I am filled with anxiety about (see #2 as to why). I hope they are as on top of things as they claimed they would be when selling me this product. 2. A few planks started floating apart weeks after installation, and one of the reducers or t molding, (by the door not sure what they're called) has started coming up. I contacted Home Depot by going to the store twice in 2 weeks with no one getting back to me as the customer service employee told me they would. I called the third time so I wouldn't waste another trip, and was told the installers (who are sub contracted) will contact me. They have and we are in the process of having them fix the issues. The installers are very courteous and helpful but with that being the case, either the product, or the installation (or possibly both) was lacking. With all this being said, these floors physically look very nice when you are not looking at one of the trouble areas. They are on the other hand, very hard to keep clean and are super slippery, but I think that goes with any hard wood or laminate flooring. Hope this review helps. November 17, 2015
