Customer Questions & Answers

Would you recommend it on hardwood floors?

I recently removed some carpet in a bedroom, and it left a small size dark spot. Right at the entrance of the room on hardwood floors. Money is limited so I'm trying to either restore the current hardwood floor or cover it, and I don't want carpet EVER!!!
Asked by: Kimmy78
Yes, you can install Pergo laminate directly over level hardwood floors.

Which is darker, Homestead Oak or Gunstock Oak?

Does one of them have more surface texture than the other? I've heard that laminates can be very slippery, and I'm thinking that more texture would mean less slipping potential.
Asked by: Jean
Thank you for your interest in Pergo. The two floors are very similar in darkness. Both floors have a textured finish which does make them less slippery.

which is more rustic homestead oak or cross sawn chestnut??

I want to put in dining room that does not have tons of natural light...I already have the furniture with is reddish oak...I didn't want the highland hickory because it looks exactly like the furniture. I have southern gray in kitchen but didn't think the more modern gray would do with the dining room furniture. the opening is not wide, just traditional doorway, so no issue with continuity....I love my pergo cap a tread in weathered pine for steps and upstairs hall.....southern oat blends nicely for tv room, hallway and it....
Asked by: remodeler
Thank you for your interest in Pergo. It sounds like you already have a great eye for design. Either Cross Sawn Chestnut or Homestead Oak would be a nice rustic look. Homestead Oak would probably be a little more rustic as it has more defined knots in the floor.

Why is there not a price break for a pallet of this flooring? Is this a mistake?

Asked by: Thriftymama
Thank you for your interest in Pergo. There should be a price break on the pallet. I have notified the pricing team for further assistance.

XP Homestead Oak 10 mm Thick x 7-1/2 in. Wide x 47-1/4 in. Length Laminate Flooring (353.34 sq. ft. / pallet) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It looks great The flooring looks a little darker than I expected and it shows everything but the install went really well and it looks so much better than the carpet. It is easy to clean and after 4 months and lots of large dogs in and out, not a single scratch on it. I expect it to last a long time. For the price it can't be beat. We used 21/2 inch white wood base and it looks much better than the quarter round would have. The installer was awesome and so was the in-store rep but the phone reps that set up the measure and install were not helpful at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Did my ENTIRE HOUSE! I purchased this product and had Home Depot install it in my home - in five hours! Here it is, 7 months later and I have no regrets and my flooring is still immaculate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful floors These floors are absolutely beautiful, and look like real wood. My father works construction and says that these are some of the best laminate floors he has seen. We were surprised when we received the sample prior to purchasing; the flooring is darker than it appears online. When you smooth your hand across the floors, it feels like real wood since you can feel woodgrain. When they were delivered, we also saw that the plastic was torn on one of the cases. We inspected the wood, and it wasn't scratched. It is clearly good quality. I highly recommend these floors. Our experience was delivery, however, was not very good. We received 6-7 calls from the delivery guy who could not find our house (GPS, anyone?). His truck ended up leaking hydraulic fluid all over our driveway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grandma puts in floors Grandma puts in floor Some pieces of laminate we're broken along the sides and ends. Hard to find trim pieces that matched well. Inadequate instructions . Got a severe rash while installing this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this flooring - Easy installation We put this in 3 bedrooms and a hallway so far. Looks amazing!! Very easy installation. We have 2 dogs and have had it for over a year and looks the same as the day it was installed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the best Pergo Flooring I have worked with. Expect to need at least two people. I have two types of Pergo flooring in my house. The blonde I installed I could do on my own as it had Tongue and groove along one edge and over/under snap. This Pergo flooring has tongue and groove along the short edge, and the long edge which makes for sometimes difficult to get into place without coming apart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful floor I really like the look of this floor. It seems to open up the room with a natural and homey look. From what I can tell it should last a long time, though only time will tell.
