Your room is 760 sqft, so will need a minimum of 59 boxes ( 760/13.1 = 58.01 with round up) . Answer:
Foam underlayment is attached to the flooring. It made the install faster & less expensive since I didn't end up with a partial roll of underlayment required by other manufacturers.

Answer:
Thank you for contacting Pergo. While laminate floors are resilient and water resistant, they are not urine-proof. We typically recommend that any moisture-related incident (especially pet accidents) be cleaned up within 30 minutes to avoid permanent damage.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 79 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We chose this product because we have an active 100 lb Alaskan Malamute Siberian Husky mix dog and wanted a wood floor with high durability to scratches and moisture without the refinishing hassle of natural wood floor down the road. Pergo XP was the right product for us to give us the wood floor look with great durability. The cherry color was just right for our room and we liked the wood grain texture and graphics. The bevelled edges were also as must have for us for appearance sake and we heard it is better joint than the flat joint ( more forgiving of floor level no sharp edges to catch socks, etc). The floating floor was quite easy to install . We acclimated our planks for 4 days in our house . During this time we demolished the existing floor (removed carpet, pad and baseboards), fixed the floor squeaks (caused by missed nails at joists during construction) , and leveled the floor ( planed the high spots from the joists) . Specific to our own installation, we installed a 1/4 inch plywood underlayment to raise the height to match our new recently installed tile floor. The smooth clean surface was ideal for installing the floor. We found that pulling the planks out of all the boxes and separating planks by pattern made it easy to choose the next plank to blend the floor. The planks are sturdy, very well engineered and snap together tight with precision. We somewhat randomized the planking pattern to create a more true wood floor simulation. I used a table saw to rip the planks along the wall as well as cut them for planking. Be careful with your floor planking plan and be sure to measure and calculate your row spacing and start/end of row plank length. The floor will look better with a randomized planking pattern. You may find it better to rip an inch or two off of your first row so that your last row ends with a ripped plank at least 2 inches wide. Also, if you have floor vents, be sure to plan for those as well so you don't have issues there. We followed exact directions regarding the 3/8 expansion gap at the wall - I think this is your most important rule to follow since the floor floats! You can buy the plastic 3/8 inch spacers in the same isle as the Pergo displays. Other essential tools you will need include a mallet, a tapping block, and a puller tool to assemble the rows tightly. We completed the floor by adding foam backer rod and clear silicon caulk around the floor to seal all cut edges from moisture. The transition between floors was easy to install, but be sure to plan for its location first before starting your floor so you maintain your 3/8 inch gap. Because we recently removed all baseboards for our tile floor job, we removed them in the Pergo rooms too and replaced all the baseboards with stained color matched wood . The final step was a damp mop and dry and the floor is beautiful! You will love this durable floor, we do so far after nearly 2 months. October 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product, requires time and additional purchases for installation. Good quality product, few defects, and generally snapped together easily. In the 70 cases of flooring I used, I found only two or three defective boards. Most people could learn to install the flooring. However, it does require a good table saw and miter saw. The hard flooring destroys saw blades and one will need to have a couple saw blades available. It is probably easier to use quarter round to finish the edges than to remove and reinstall base boards. The cost should be factored in to the purchase. The thresholds for the flooring are overpriced; they cost as much as a case of flooring. The purchase of a flooring installation kit and rubber hammer is a must for the installation. It's needed to tap together the boards without chipping the edges. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Floor This floor looks beautiful. I liked that it had the special padding on the back of it already. It does seem to be good quality but this is my first one so I'm not 100% sure. I didn't install it myself but my contractor had some trouble with interlocking pieces breaking off so make sure you buy an extra box. Finally, I only gave it a good value because I think everything priced today is so expensive but didn't think this product was too bad. February 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Missing some of the imprint I have included a picture of 4 planks that came straight out of the box. Do they have any quality control. I emailed Pergo and they want me to return it to the HD where it was purchased. In Vermont that is an hour away. Why should I have to spend my time, my money, to bring something back that should have never left the manufacturer? February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rebound I love the floors. I placed 3 orders of this floor. As my previous post stated the second order was not great. It seems they got their act together on my last order. You can always return bad lots at the store. Overall final product. Great!! August 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mismatch I purchased a pallet and a half of the Kingston Cherry Laminate flooring. The first order for the floor was uniform and beautiful. I ordered some xtra cases for another room. The cases where delivered with the plastic wrap so tight it broke some of the thin corners. I lost a box and a half. The other thing noticeable was they varied in color. I have not finished the install because I am contemplating the removal of the floor from the second delivery not being of the quality of my first order. This is bad quality control. July 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by After ONE Year in 3 Bedrooms and closets - 600 sq ft Most reviews are written shortly after installation.....I chose to wait 1 year and then give my opinion. My day 1 impression of this product was not very good...why? I had installed Pergo flooring years ago and was trying to use the same style of angling the boards to connect them together......breaking tongues......Reading the directions super carefully....this new type of tongue and groove connection is totally different .....once you get the hang of it the end result is far better in integrity and alignment without gaps and almost stops you from misaligned the product. Not only that the bevels in this product give a real wood appearance with far better scratch resistance than any engineered or solid wood flooring.....with no future maintenance requred. Having dogs won't scratch it....taking a key won't scratch it.... traffic pattern won't scratch it....just super durable, attractive and real wood appearance.....What else could you ask for January 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good quality floor! This is my first Pergo floor and installed it about 1 month ago. So far I'm very pleased with everything from ordering, in-store customer service/pickup, installation(saved money with the attached underlayment), and looks. I look forward to many years of use. I would highly recommend this flooring and Home Depot. July 19, 2016
