Answer:
After installing it in a kitchen and eating area the joins are so tight that it's likely fluid will penetrate the flooring very easily. I think as long as it's not allowed to sit for some time without cleaning it up it should be fine.

Answer:
Pergo floors can definitely be installed in kitchens. Remember that while laminate floors are water-resistant, they are not waterproof. Moisture related incidents should be cleaned up within 30 minutes to avoid permanent damage.
Please read this installation guide for a full list of precautions.

Dear PDVM, We have reached out to the MFG for more information and below is their response.
" XP is not waterproof it can withstand spills quickly cleaned up. Precautions are recommended in the install, seal the expansion with silicon sealant around the perimeters near dishwasher, sinks, refrigerator lines, also recommended is exposed exterior doors especially sliding doors".

Thank you for contacting Pergo. Home Depot no longer sells Pergo moldings, they have made the choice to go with a third party vendor for moldings. You can contact this vendor – Zamma at 540-672-5200 for the new moldings that coordinate with your floor.

The small floor sample and this web site both advertise that this Sedona Oak is AC4. I just checked the box, it reads AC3. Why the discrepancy?

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 41 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good looking product This was my fifth laminate flooring installation. 4 were Pergo. All 4 Pergo floors look great. The one that was another brand - not so much. The Pergo is very easy to cut and install. Virtually no chipping but I recommend you purchase a saw blade for cutting laminate. The material locks together easily and stays together. I don't think I had to tap more than 2 or 3 pieces into place. Oh yeah, the oak door, outlet and wall switch cover plates in the second picture were purchased at Home Depot also- maybe 10 - 12 years ago. I don't know if they are still available but they are top quality. May 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Autumn oak I bought this 2 years ago and now adding hall way to home can't find it ant where. It's only 2 years old. why do you stop making such a great color as Autumn oak?do you have a product close to this?Thank you Don Applegate May 16, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by XP Sedona oak Product was excellent.High quality, easy to install and beautifull to look on. will recomended to my friends May 11, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst purchase I ever made, looks cheap I thought pergo was a good product, not so.... you have one shot to hook pieces together correctly or it chips and then you have to get a new piece. Very Very poor quality. April 30, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty floor but not the quality I would expect from Pergo. I just had the Sedona Oak floor (or at least most of it) installed today. My installer ran out due to about 5 of the boards being damaged. Now it will probably take another 2 weeks to get the new case in. I must say the floor is beautiful installed, but a few of the pieces are not quite flush on the ends. You can see obvious seeming with one board slightly higher than the other. My floor was level to begin with so that should not have been a problem. Any suggestions to correcting this would be appreciated. I have included pictures of 3 separate areas that show what I am talking about. The 3rd picture is the most obvious area and the picture that best demo states the color of the floor. I can not comment on the durability or ease of maintenance, because it is too new to have an opinion on that February 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY IT ! The SEAMS are not even, waste time and money !!! Very disappointed ! Hi, folks, I ordered 48 cases to replace my old floor. I have waited about 2 weeks. Then got the wood. I hired a professional installer to install them. (HD order no is 755945 on 8/23/15). On day 1, my installed called me saying the seams are not even, e.g. when you lay 3 pieces together, the T-joint will have two sides even, but one side not matching in height ! He has tried 5 cases and all the same. He thinks at least 1/3 of the wood are very bad, 1/3 little bad, 1/3 may be normal. I went back to check further. I really felt the difference in height at the seams. See photo 1 and 2 at my hallway (you can see the light showed up at the seam where it is not even !). I thought may be the floor not even, but DeWitt professional level showed them very level. See photo 3. I then laid the Pergo XP floor side by side with another cheaper brand in my master bedroom on a 100% level ground to see the difference. (See photo 4 and 5). You can clearly see the seams not even at Pergo on the Left (the right cheaper brand is very even and smooth). Then I spent 8 trips to Home Depot in 2 days and then they sent a worker to see and inspect and agreed with me that these are defective products. Although I got the FULL refund, but already wasted 2 days of time and need to pay my installers hundreds of dollars for his time on day 1 and a trip to return the products to HD on day 2. Worst of all, I asked here if I can keep my original padding under the old floor and the Pergo rep. said no. My original floor has pad, but since this Pergo XP does not allow padding. So my installer removed all the padding before day 1. So, I need to spend hundred of dollars to replace the padding too ! I estimated I lost at least $1,000 in this defective product by Pergo ! Thanks a lot to Pergo poor quality control ! I need to pay my installers the time and now my material for padding (after this I chose a traditional type with padding required, dare not to try anything new now after this burn !) I laid a case of the cheaper brand in the same location as Pergo in my test. See photo 6 for the same hallway, now it is 100% even and smooth ! The light can show you no problem now when I used another brand. So, this is my sad experience with Pergo XP. The quality of the seams can kill you. Try something else (RUN !) and save yourself all these headaches. Walter Lee September 10, 2015
