After I got the hang of laying the rows, it was a pleasure to install. The hardest part of the installation was locking in all the planks in the row. And contrary to some youtube videos...you don't use a hammer. I watched the official Pergo videos over and over and consulted with the Home Depot floor experts to get the real scoop. I made my own video but haven't posted it yet. Lifting the full row and connecting the tongue and groove took some time to get the hang of it. But now I'm a Pergo expert.
I used a miter saw to cut the planks and a handheld jigsaw to cut the odd pieces around the closet openings. My husband cut the first rows on a table saw as they were less than a full width. I laid the planks in a 1/3, 2/3, and full plank pattern and that was much easier than random lengths. Haven't put the baseboards back on yet but it looks fantastic.
I did 3 bedrooms and averaged about 2 boxes per hour (16 planks). That's roughly 25 square feet per hour. The smaller bedrooms took me about 6 hours each and the master bedroom took me 10 hours.
I love the look of the planks - the texture and beveled edge gives them a real wood appearance.

My husband is putting the last piece of the Vermont Maple Pergo in as I speak. We are thrilled with this product! He did an entire dining room and kitchen in about 6 hours. I have a couple of pointers to share. First of all, follow the Pergo instructions. :o) Secondly, after two false starts, we realized that we needed a system for choosing the next board to put down so we opened all the boxes and stacked the boards by design. There were seven designs and he would move from one design to the next in order as he needed a board. The Pergo is light and brightens the whole room. We are happy we did not follow the current trend of dark floors! This will not show dust at all.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gerard It was what I expected.
Overall the product was pretty good. The only bad thing was that end joint is a little weak. You have to be careful so it does not break.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Handy Worked out well
The final look is great. The installation was pretty easy. This was my first installation of laminate flooring. I watched a couple ytube videos and it went quite well. The only negatives were that some of the tongues and corners were damaged. About 10 out of 40 boxes. The other real negative was a design flaw. The end tongues were some what fragile. You just have to be careful or they can break out.

The flooring was very simple to install. I've installed other laminate flooring before, and this went together with ease. Quick and looks great!

This was my first foray into installing a Pergo floor. I made sure I had all of the necessary items (tapping block, etc.) to insure a good fit. I did put down a fresh layer of 1/4" underlayment to give the floor a good foundation. I had 2 doorways that were in my first row, which was a challenge. Once I got everything fit around the doors, it was smooth sailing. The room came out great!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MM Nice floor ...home depot installation okay
The floor is close to the color you see in the store. It looks really nice. It is a soft color. So if you don't want the floor to pop to much its perfect. The quality looks okay. I have to see over the next few months to see if it is good. We don't have pets or kids nor do we where shoes in the house, so if it can't stand up to our basic use it won't be good.
So let's see how it goes. I will update my review in 6 months.
We got this product installed by Home Depot which is from a third party contract company. You first pay #35 to get it measured from one company then a different company installs it. They take off the $35 if you actually install with them but they don't give you the dimensions or anything. They did a pretty good job. They were careful on making sure the floor did not bounce too much. They did charge more for extra flooring work after they came on job and see what was needed.
I feel like the workers were nice and polite but not very considerate to the rest of the house. They did not think about the rest of the house they were not working on. Like other floors and doors. They made them messy and also did not take care as much as i think they should. They left doors open for bugs and creatures to come in. Then when they did close them they slammed it. They should be gentle with rest of the house.
Also these days with the phone, no one works with the attention at the present task. Everyone is always chatting and on the phone about other jobs or personal stuff. I think it wastes time and they tend to do a sloppy job. I also don't think I should have to listen to their music while they work since we can all have head phones. It is just rude. I was home the entire time as I work from home.
And be aware when they charge you floor extra flooring work. They charge by the hour for grinding and by the bag for cement. Our workers had some issues and only one was there so clearly one person doing everything take much longer and is less efficient them 2 or 3. So make sure they don't overcharge.
It seem people have less artistry in their work and poorer workmanship. Just rush and get the job done to the next job.
Overall it was an okay experience. I would say that Home Depot is a good company so I feel comfortable if I have any issue they will come out and fix it.
