As a result, you can't lay a row working from right to left. With that said, this may not be the best flooring for a high-water area like a bathroom. Prolonged exposure to water will warp the wood in the boards. Pergo does make a new version that is more water resistant and you may want to take a look at that. Read Less

I must have the color of Prego XP Vermont Maple but want some added water resistance of the Prego OUTLAST+ with SpillProtect24. The problem is that there is no Vermont Maple color in the Prego OUTLAST+ selection. Would using the ROBERTS Tongue & Groove Adhesive 1406 add to the water resistance at the joints? Answer:
No additional padding is needed but you need to lay down a 6 mil plastic moisture barrier first and install the Pergo on top of it. This prevents moisture in the concrete from affecting the floor.

Thank you for your interest in Pergo. We require that a 6mil vapor barrier be used between the concrete and the floor in all concrete floor installations.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 97 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely Beautiful This Pergo flooring is absolutely beautiful. It looks like real wood and makes the rooms look larger. I love it! August 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful, warm color and looks like a wood floor After I got the hang of laying the rows, it was a pleasure to install. The hardest part of the installation was locking in all the planks in the row. And contrary to some youtube videos...you don't use a hammer. I watched the official Pergo videos over and over and consulted with the Home Depot floor experts to get the real scoop. I made my own video but haven't posted it yet. Lifting the full row and connecting the tongue and groove took some time to get the hang of it. But now I'm a Pergo expert. I used a miter saw to cut the planks and a handheld jigsaw to cut the odd pieces around the closet openings. My husband cut the first rows on a table saw as they were less than a full width. I laid the planks in a 1/3, 2/3, and full plank pattern and that was much easier than random lengths. Haven't put the baseboards back on yet but it looks fantastic. I did 3 bedrooms and averaged about 2 boxes per hour (16 planks). That's roughly 25 square feet per hour. The smaller bedrooms took me about 6 hours each and the master bedroom took me 10 hours. I love the look of the planks - the texture and beveled edge gives them a real wood appearance. June 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product This was our first venture at installing laminate floors. This product was really easy to use, especially considering the underlayment is already attached. We had no damaged boards. The finish made our room look bright and welcoming. The bevelled edge gives it a more high end look. We plan to finish the rest of our house with this flooring. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Relatively easy install The floor color is beautiful. Installation however requires the tap with a rubber install block otherwise the floor does not click together perfectly. Trying to install without tapping it in once you put it together leaves tiny gaps which should not be there. I cannot comment on durability, color retention, and scratch resistance since I just installed the floor. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best experiences with laminate We purchased this US produced product after having a poor experience with a competing US company. Each bundle (34) arrived without damage. Each board snapped together with gentle tapping by a rubber hammer. The ends connected well. However, one must know that to undo this connection one must slide them apart NOT reversing the angle used to connect them. Otherwise, the snapping mechanisms become broken. The boards are reusable with wood glue applied to the joint. And, the styrofoam backing lowers the overall project cost and reduces time laying down of the other underlays. We were very satisfied with the product quality. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pergo Vermont Maple Good quality product, good customer service, delivery on time August 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! We have laid Pergo floors once before so we had some experience. They connected well and the color makes the room look larger. We put back in our white trim and the whole room looks beautiful and polished. August 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect My husband is putting the last piece of the Vermont Maple Pergo in as I speak. We are thrilled with this product! He did an entire dining room and kitchen in about 6 hours. I have a couple of pointers to share. First of all, follow the Pergo instructions. :o) Secondly, after two false starts, we realized that we needed a system for choosing the next board to put down so we opened all the boxes and stacked the boards by design. There were seven designs and he would move from one design to the next in order as he needed a board. The Pergo is light and brightens the whole room. We are happy we did not follow the current trend of dark floors! This will not show dust at all. June 2, 2016
