This was my first foray into installing a Pergo floor. I made sure I had all of the necessary items (tapping block, etc.) to insure a good fit. I did put down a fresh layer of 1/4" underlayment to give the floor a good foundation. I had 2 doorways that were in my first row, which was a challenge. Once I got everything fit around the doors, it was smooth sailing. The room came out great!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MM Nice floor ...home depot installation okay
The floor is close to the color you see in the store. It looks really nice. It is a soft color. So if you don't want the floor to pop to much its perfect. The quality looks okay. I have to see over the next few months to see if it is good. We don't have pets or kids nor do we where shoes in the house, so if it can't stand up to our basic use it won't be good.
So let's see how it goes. I will update my review in 6 months.
We got this product installed by Home Depot which is from a third party contract company. You first pay #35 to get it measured from one company then a different company installs it. They take off the $35 if you actually install with them but they don't give you the dimensions or anything. They did a pretty good job. They were careful on making sure the floor did not bounce too much. They did charge more for extra flooring work after they came on job and see what was needed.
I feel like the workers were nice and polite but not very considerate to the rest of the house. They did not think about the rest of the house they were not working on. Like other floors and doors. They made them messy and also did not take care as much as i think they should. They left doors open for bugs and creatures to come in. Then when they did close them they slammed it. They should be gentle with rest of the house.
Also these days with the phone, no one works with the attention at the present task. Everyone is always chatting and on the phone about other jobs or personal stuff. I think it wastes time and they tend to do a sloppy job. I also don't think I should have to listen to their music while they work since we can all have head phones. It is just rude. I was home the entire time as I work from home.
And be aware when they charge you floor extra flooring work. They charge by the hour for grinding and by the bag for cement. Our workers had some issues and only one was there so clearly one person doing everything take much longer and is less efficient them 2 or 3. So make sure they don't overcharge.
It seem people have less artistry in their work and poorer workmanship. Just rush and get the job done to the next job.
Overall it was an okay experience. I would say that Home Depot is a good company so I feel comfortable if I have any issue they will come out and fix it.

Went down just fine. Burns up saw blades, which I hope indicates a long wear life.

This flooring was easy to install, looks great and appears to be a very good floor to have with our dogs. I installed this in our spare bedroom and a home office - both rooms look terrific.

I had to replace badly stained dog urine soiled rug. The oder was disgusting.
The particle board subfloor was soaked and sponging up. I considered completely removing it.
However it was glued to the plywood base floor so that would have been too costly.
I bought a bunch of Clorox Urine remover, it's basically hydrogen peroxide in large spray bottles.
"NOTE, it's NOT Clorox bleach. Bleach and urine will create toxic ammonia." I sanded down all swollen areas and soaked with the Urine remover, let it dry, sprayed with H2o to test for more order soaked Urine remover again and again until the order was gone, i let the floor dry for a week.
I then applied 2 coats of Kilz stain remover to entire subfloor, The original oil-based stuff.
let it dry for 4 days.
It took 3 days just to pull all the staples from the old rug foam underlayment.
Laying down the Pergo was the fun part. I used a laminate floor plank slicer and jig-saw for cutting, also had to hand cut under door jambs too. That was somewhat difficult but looks pro.
After bringing back all the bedroom furniture and finishing up and its beautiful and no more Dog urine oder.
I ordered the Pergo from Home Depot online it was delivered to my house in a couple of days with free shipping!
We love that room again and the dog that used it now goes only outside as that is that last room with a rug. I went back to Home Depot to get a matching transition piece. It was the last one or that style and missing hardware, the person in the flooring dept. gave it to me a a discount and saved me some money. We especially like the beveled edge , as it really look like real wood planks.
If you do it yourself you know its done correctly.

Having my contractor install the flooring, it ties in with other work he's doing. Be sure to measure your room correctly and add in that "extra box" if the square footage is even close to your measurement.
