Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Boz Cheaply made, and the bottom tray rusted badly after 6 months.
Bought this as my first bird feeder. After seeing and buying other feeders, I now realize how poorly this is constructed and what a bad value it is. The seed tray is almost useless in catching stray seeds. It does excel in being a perfect perch for unwanted doves and squirrels. It rusted to it's current state, as seen in the attached picture, within 6 months. Finally, I purchased a different feeder without a tray at a large retailer - won't mention names but their super centers also sell groceries - that was far superior in every way, and I could have purchased FOUR of them for the HD cost of this feeder. The HD markup on this feeder must be staggering.

You can purchase this feeder in a number of other stores but Home Depot's prices are competitive and they have so much more to offer it just makes sense to buy it there along with all your building needs, painting needs, landscape needs, etc.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JCCJ Looks great but plate rusts.Top hanger bad design.
I bought this feeder about 3 months ago. The bottom plate is already all pitted and rusty. It looks great otherwise. I also had to install a laminated wire to replace the metal hanger that attaches to the feeder top. The hanger would keep the top on but it had to be bent to secure the top of the feeder. Bird food tends to cake on the rusty tray especially after a rain. I would not buy this again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This feeder looks great and the birds like it. It is available in other stores but HD's prices are competive and they have a lot of other equality products to offer as well so my vote is for HD.

The ends of the metal piece that passes through the cap of the feeder and run through holes in the rod at the top of the tube don't have enough bend to stay attached to the rod and the feeder falls apart at the slightest movement. I wasn't able to bend the metal piece but did use thin sisal twine around the rod ends and twined it around the metal piece. So far it has not fallen apart even after the squirrels hang on it.

Bought this because of the metal posts and looked so nice. Within a few days the plastic incerts used to prevent the seeds from falling out 3 of them broke. I glued them back in. Then the forth one fell out and was gone! I made a substitute with a bottle cap. Very bad design and quality. This company should know better.
For 20 bucks a bird feeder should last at least a year. Hard to believe that this product is still on the shelf.

poor design allows to top to fall off frequently. small tie between top and brass colored tube insert does remedy, but why should I need to engineer?

I thought this looked like a nice bird feeder so I paid $20 for it only to get home and realize that the metal hinges are long enough or at enough of an angle to stay in the holes causing it to fall every time I leave it hung up. No idea why this would be designed as such. Horrible purchase.
