I bought this upside-down feeder after having thoroughly researched everything on the internet about goldfinches. I read all the reviews and was hoping for the best when I pulled the trigger on this one.
Pros: cheap, well-designed perches at right-angles to each other
Cons: flimsy build, unreliable V-cap at the bottom- I thought I could ignore these issues but it turned out to be a deal-breaker.
More than anything else, I had a couple of visiting lesser goldfinches (not the American goldfinches) that I thought would be delighted to use this feeder- not so much. Not sure whether it's just my lesser goldfinches, but they don't seem too keen on this whole 'hanging upside-down and feeding' thing. They tried a couple of times but didn't get too excited about it. You might have better luck with American goldfinches and this product.

I bought two of these upside down finch feeders about a month ago because I owned them in the past. I would have rated it higher except that when I received them, one of tubes was flattened at the top, either by production or from shipping. I have to squeeze it together to get the metal top to fit. I thought it would "round out" after a while but it must be flattened too much. The other problem you will have is circular V in the bottom. It does not fit very well and in very cold weather they have a tendency break when trying to remove it for cleaning.

The unit is plastic, however the top is metal. Does a fine job. Birds like it. Switched from a mesh feeder because it was dispensing too much seed, and seed is expensive! Seed does last longer.

I don't know why these feeders are so hard to find!! The only place I could find them was on line and you had the great price. We LOVE these feeders. It is too funny watching birds feed upside down. Finches would rather feed this way. Thanks for the opportunity to get these from you.

This feeder is great to see the finches eat upside down.Unfortunately the plastic tube of ours was destroyed by squirrels,so be sure to hang a baffle over it.
