I hung mine by the wire string, but only after I added a baffle. which I ordered from homedepot. Has totally stumped the squirrels, when nothing else has.

I have a plant hook that holds several feeders. Suspending it in a tree with wire was too tempting for squirrels.

Answer:
The feeder has a plastic coated cable that attaches to the base of the feeder inside the tube. The top of the feeder has a push button which allows you to slide the top up the cable to refill the tube. The top end of the cable has a loop which can be either hung from a pole or a tree. It is not squirrel proof so I would recommend the purchase of a shield if squirrels could be a problem.

Answer:
It's metal, probably steel plated with copper. Not plastic. The clear cylinder IS plastic. It's held up well year round for nearly two years now. It has attracted a nice assortment of Midwest Songbirds, in fact the perching ring is especially suited to Cardinals :-)

I would suggest contacting the manufacturer. I was in that department at Home Depot today and did not see any replacent tubes. It may be cheaper to just purchase a new feeder. I really like this one and the birds LOVE it. Good luck.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 69 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Birds in love with this bird feeder This is a sturdy feeder and easy to fill, which is great as I need to fill it every day. I plan to purchase a second feeder. The birds fight to get their place at the dinner table. The photo shows they are lining up to eat even in the rain. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Feeder Well made, not too big. Birds seem to love it. Holds ample seed for a variety of birds. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] September 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product After placing this in our yard within the first day we saw several birds feeding. This product so far has worked very well (1 week) & we have already refilled bird food. October 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service by company and good bird feeder with a little bit of extra squirrel protection The birds loved this feeder from the start. I must admit that the squirrels were unable to open the top, but had no problem with jumping onto the feeder itself, and wrap their bodies around and eat as long as they wanted to, while preventing birds from eating also. One day I came home and noticed that the bird feeder was not hanging on its usual place on the balcony. I went out and looked down where it was in pieces on the dirt below. After retrieving the feeder I could not determine how the squirrels not only managed to cause the feeder to fall (I have had a feeder there for over 8 years without it falling), but also managed to turn the feeder inside out. Those little guys are determined!! I contacted the seller, and they were so kind tand sent me a new one within days, without question. I have also purchased a balster (sp?) from home depot and put that on as well. and the squirrels are stumped. The birds are happy. Thank you To Copper Panorama Bird Feeder for such great service. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Birds pick this one over all others! I had several different bird feeders, but the birds kept going to this one first! Looks great too! October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As hoped They were exactly as I expected and blend with the wooded area we have behind it. Unfortunately they have been up for more than a week and I haven't seen but one bird on them and it was on the top of the feeder. Hope the copper color isn't a "turn off" to the birds we are trying to attract. Can't imagine that but I've heard stranger. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy to use this feeder is great for the smaller birds like finches. It's easy to fill and the top slides smoothly up and down on wire with a push button lock. It locks securely when closed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well made and very reasonably priced The ring around the perimeter provides lots of space for many birds. The feeder is also easy to refill and clean. Looks nice too. September 20, 2016
