I have had the plastic bottle feeders in the past that simply deteriorate in the sun. I was impressed that the bottle is a heavy glass that actually feels like an antique piece. The Bottle has some nice design work to it and reminds me of an old root beer or sarsaparilla bottle. The hook is surprisingly strong but will not come off for refill so you are not able to set the bottle upright. The base is a mixture of plastic and metal so do not over tighten it. I have had no leaks. The bottle's natural color is very attractive, and when its full of red liquid it remains vibrant red.
Overall very happy with the feeder, and I would definitely recommend it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Carl Great purchase!
This hummingbird feeder holds 10 ounces of nectar, the base top is brushed nickel and the base is plastic. The bases has four flower feeding spots that are a dull red. The green antique bottle is very stylish and looks greqt hanging on our back deck. The handle hook is on the small side but was able to hand it from a metal hook. The glass is a light green, and the red nectar still looks red through the green glass. And the best thing is the feeder does not drip any nectar!! The feeder did not come with any instructions, it came in pieces and it took me about fifteen minutes to put it together.

I love the look of the feeder although I'm not sure the hummers like it. I haven't seen any on it yet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Classic bottle design. Red flowers with plastic base. Screw bottle to seal feeding flowers to plastic bottom. Hummingbird friendly nectar. Four cups of distilled water. Must be distilled as the birds do not well with minerals know to be in all water. They also cannot tolerate softened water. Okay four cups of distilled water and one cup sugar. No food color bad for the hummingbirds. Keep nectar refrigerated and change daily. Happy hummingbird watching. Clean feeder frequently.

I got this in mid-season to replace a screamingly loud, red plastic one that I just couldn't stand looking at any more! This is so much easier on the eyes and the hummers seem to find it as easily as the red one. So far, no leaking. I do still have ants and wasps, tho. I have a tendency to forget where I stored the feeder over winter and have to buy new each year. If that happens again next spring, I will gladly buy this one again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solwaste Doesn't leak
I changed feeders in the middle of the season because I could no longer stand looking at that garish, bright red plastic thing I had up. This has been a sparse year for hummers around here so I'm not surprised that they haven't found the new one yet. I added some temporary neon pink fluttery tape but no luck yet. In spite of that, I give it 5 stars because it's really attractive and it doesn't leak.

What a beautiful hummingbird feeder! The glass bottle looks like an old olive oil bottle from the 50's and the bronze base sets off the green very nicely. The birds seem to like it too, because they hit on it all day long!
The bottle separates easily from the base, making cleaning a breeze, which is important, because sugar feeders tend to get moldy and the water turns to vinegar in the sun.
I mix up 1C of sugar to a 32 oz juice bottle, and keep in the refrigerator so I always have nectar on hand and change the water once a week to 10 days.
It's a beautiful upscale decorative feeder that will provide years of enjoyment! It is glass, so be mindful of that when cleaning and filling. Definitely recommend this feeder to all bird lovers!

My daughter sent this to me for Mother's Day. It's beautiful! I was so happy that she remembered how much I enjoy hummingbirds. Problems is, this thing leaks. It's a total malfunctioning product.
