Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Quality Feeder After trying several brands and taking many back, I'm on my way to get a couple more of these feeders. Last year I fed Hummingbirds all winter in NW Wa and it was very entertaining! This feeder is a bit large and sometimes on hot days the solution gets a bit foggy... but I just put less liquid in it and change it out or refill it more often, and the glass is easy to clean. It doesnt leak or dribble like many plastic ones do, and after two years with one, I'm sold on them! July 17, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ouch! Well we have decided the 2nd one purchased was still as bad as first. The first one did not leak and about 6 months latter we heard a big crash on the sidewalk. food and glass everywhere. Weren't sure as to why. Now we know the thin cheap design of the hanger allows for failure. U can not see with out a meg glass but the weight of the feeder and the swinging allow the round steel hanger to pull through the plastic eye on top of feeder. really strange but true the second one did not break but has leaked for months so I used supper glue and that stopped the leaking for a while. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Decent but leaks on hot days The feeder features an " ant moat" that can be filled with water which should keep ants out. It works until the water evaporates, which is about one day. One would have to add water daily to the "moat". It's better to spread "critter barrier" paste around the hook from which the feeder hangs. Such paste can be purchased in garden stores. If ants get into the bottle, the nectar will spoil and hummingbirds will not touch it. Another frustrating aspect is that on days that have large swings in temperature (low at night, high during the day) the feeder sucks in air when cold and as the temperature increases, the air in the bottle expands and pushes the nectar out at rate higher than what birds can consume and the sweet nectar drips, creating a sticky puddle below. Otherwise it works and hummingbirds like to drink from it. What I like about it is that it has a rail for hummingbirds to rest on while feeding. Hummingbirds can feed on the wing, but they apparently prefer to rest when possible. July 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by new 2098 Hummingbird Feeder I went to get the 206-9 Hummingbird Feeder that I have bought for years & in it's place they had the 2098 new design. Well the bottom comes apart in 2 pieces to clean better, but it leaks after the 2nd or 3rd time filling. Don't buy this feeder. I would have taken it back to Home Depot but I didn't keep my ticket. I hope they bring back the 209-6 feeder. September 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by VERY POOR DESIGN - IT LEAKS! This model is for you IF your neighborhood Hummingbirds feed off of the ground! It leaks incessantly, rapidly draining the reservoir This was given to me as a gift. I returned the original because of the leakage and the replacement had the exact same problem. As other reviewers have stated; the leaks originate at the seam between the two bottom sections. I'm now looking for another model with different construction July 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice feeder, but larger than expected. It's a nice hummingbird feeder: Simple shape, made of glass rather than plastic, so it will not scratch or discolor too quickly. But it is quite large and rather heavy. Unless you have dozens of hummingbirds visiting non-stop from dusk to dawn there is no point in filling the feeder more than 1/4 or 1/3 full since your "nectar" will go bad well before it is consumed. Also, wasps are able to retrieve the nectar from this type of feeder...and they actually bully the hummingbirds away. If I were to purchase a feeder again: a feeder half the size (or even smaller) with bee guards. And get yourself an ant barrier; ants are just one more problem plaguing all hummingbird feeders. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MY FAVORITE This is the best feeder. It does not leak and the bees can't get in. I think perky pet has changed the design because I had a hard time finding this one. May 27, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by easy to use The birds love it and it has much more features than previous feeders. Very easy to use, cleaning and refilling is very simple. It's also very solid and holds a lot of nectar. August 28, 2013
