After running four cups of hummingbird food through this unit in less than 24 hours, I have decided to give up on this feeder. The top fill is a great concept, but I could not get mine to work. The first leak was my bad, as I didn't have the bottom screwed on tight enough, and it doesn't come in the package tight enough either. You really have to have everything super tight or it will leak. I really tightened everything up, but the next morning the feeder was empty, and it was not from a flock of hummingbirds either. The bees and wasps are loving my sticky roses though...

My daughter loves this hummingbird feeder. At first, there weren't any hummingbirds. After about two days, I guess word got out. As I write this review there are three of them on it. They will land on the little "vines" and stay a while.
This is great entertainment for kids (and adults). They love to watch the little birds. They also can help mix the solution and fill it.
This hummingbird feeder is better constructed than feeders we've had before.

I was not happy with the quality of this feeder when we received it. First, the hook that it comes with is extremely small, so we had to retrofit it immediately to fit our hook. Then, we filled it completely and it all leaked out within 24 hours because the base was not on tight enough. So, base tightened, top tightened and refilled and whalah! We had a hummingbird at the feeder within 24 hours. Which is why I am giving this feeder a 4 instead of a 3. It works. just make certain that everything is screwed together tightly and figure out the hook situation.

This feeder was easy to put together. It's really pretty. Holds a good amount of liquid. Can unscrew the bottle without unlatching the top from the hook. Doesn't leak like most bottom filled bottles that I have tried. I did put some DE (diatomaceous earth) across the top of the lid to keep ants off. Was easy to hang with the little hook. Is easy to clean. Just remove the flower bowl parts which unscrew with the bottom of the bottle so you can get to the inside really easily.

This feeder initially looks like any other hummingbird feeder, but it does have a couple of unique features that make it preferable. First, it is easy to fill from the top as noted in the photos below. Second, it has this locking feature that opens and closes the feed to the bottom of the feeder so you are not as likely to spill the liquid when filling and hanging. We did have a problem with lots of leaking initially from the bottom seal. It turns out that the bottom part, although it does not apparently screw together, nevertheless needed to be tightened with a couple of twists. After that, there was no leaking. You have to REALLY tighten the lid, also for the feeder to work properly. To open the lock, you must pull up on the top half of the feeder without accidentally turning the bottom seal. Tricky at first, but when done correctly, this is a very nice feeder. We already have several hummingbirds feeding from it. Note: make your own sugar water mix instead of the prepared mix sold for these. Hummingbirds really do not like the commercial stuff.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by msd very light duty - yes hummingbirds, but human installed
Ok - it looks nice. That is where the good stuff ends. It is a very light duty hummingbird feeder, which will break if you handle it at all. The little purches are so light, that a tiny bump - yes by a person - would break or damage them. Sure I have not seen 10 lb hummingbirds lately, but you still have to mount this somewhere and refill it once in a while. The other thing which was very light duty was the hook device on the top of the feeder. Again if you are not very careful you will snap it off. I would not waste my money on this feeder. Look for something less cheaply built and more able to handle real world knocks and bumps which feeders blowing in the wind will experience.

I wanted to love this hummingbird feeder. It was a replacement for a cheap one that I dropped and cracked(but never leaked prior to it cracking). The design concept is great. It's very sturdy and I love that you can fill it from the top. However, after filling it the first time all of the liquid leaked out within 30 minutes. I realized the very bottom sections screwed together and were a little loose. I tightened every section that could be tightened as securely as possible but it still has a slow leak. Again I've lost most of the liquid that was in there. I wouldn't buy again.

The Prky-Pet Humming Bird Feeder makes a fine addition to our bird feeder collection. Yes, we do have humming birds in in central Florida, and it's great watch them light on the perch to get at the sugar-water. The top fill design of this feeder makes it very easy to fill and clean. Our humming birds seem very happy with a homemade recipe of one part sugar mixed with three parts boiled water.
