After reading instructions, watching the video, and watching all the nectar come out of the flowers in a steady stream until completely empty, we gave up and returned it. ATTENTION DESIGNERS: those flowers can't be securely enough locked into the base to avoid breaking the vacuum! Please re-design because top-loading is a great concept!

The perches are incredibly flimsy and the birds do not light long. The birds appear to struggle to get to the sugar water and leave immediately and go to a different feeder. They empty other feeders in a few hours and this one holds the water for days. I have gone out to repop the top and get the water flowing time and time again. It does not flow properly and when you try to get the bottom filled, it leaks. Unlike others on this review list, mine doesn't leak all of the time, but it doesn't appear to flow the way it should when the top is pulled either. I watched the video and read the reviews. After talking to customer service, it appears this feeder gets lots of complaint calls. This is not worth the hassle. I would rather refill the bottom pour type with an old pan to catch the remnant in the base than deal with the constant fiddling with this one. I took it down and will see if any other standard base I have on hand fits the threaded lid before I pitch it. I read one review from Anonymous that said the seven they use are the best ever. So I am wondering how these can be so all over the spectrum in user satisfaction.

I have a lot of hummingbird feeders....at least a dozen, all over the yard. I've been eyeing this top fill feeder for some time, but the reviews made me hesitate. This week I broke down and bought one. I've filled and refilled, watched the video, followed the steps, and the thing just leaks like crazy.....yesterday I thought I'd finally gotten it right, hung it and watched, no drips. 1/2 hour later, no drips. This morning, the entire thing had emptied onto the patio. I'm sick of being sticky, sick of cleaning it up, it's just not worth the bother. I don't even want to give it away and dump it on someone else. I to the trash it goes, and I'm heading out tomorrow to find a new feeder.....very sad, this was a great idea, poorly executed.

Worse feeder I hAve ever had. It leaked so much that I barely had enough to fill the feeder right before hanging. I should have read the reviews 1st but was excited and wanted the scout to know where to tell the others to come. :(

I know I'm supposed to tighten the top to create a vacuum but that doesn't help the fact that there's no seal where the the flower is attached so there's no way to keep the vacuum. I'm quite sad because I finally decided to buy a hummingbird feeder for the first time and it happened to be this defective one.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by VTISME At first great feeder not worth the hassle anymore
I don't have the time to mess around with this feeder. At first it was great and worked well. Trying to line up the bottom pieces so it doesn't leak is not worth my headache. I have broken a flower petal trying to unscrew the bottom parts. I have switched brands and couldn't be happier!
Thought I would try this site for the instructional video but it's not available.

After watching the online video I discovered that a cup in the base has to be pushed all the way down or else the fluid leaks out all over the place. Took two refills to discover this. After pushing the cup down and reassembling the unit it appears to be working fine. I like the open and close feature. Why isn't the cup pushed in during assembly?
