Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 31 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by They are what they are described. I bought these to replace lost ones. Bees and wasps are attracted to yellow, so I had to paint them red; otherwise the hummingbirds didn't stand a chance to drink. My feeders attract at least a dozen (that's as fast as my eyes can count them!), there's plenty of chance! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] July 28, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by EASY CLEAN BUT INEFFICIENT AT DETERRING BEES! The old Perky-Pet style of flat bee-guards did not have the ease of cleaning that the new round-top bee guards have. The new round-top bee-guards flip open to get a small brush or Q-tip inside for easy cleaning and they do a decent job of holding the Gloxinia flowers in place which is why I rated 2 Stars instead of 1 Star. But that's where the new bee-guard pro's ends for me. Very ironic but the new bee-guard design is inefficient at keeping bees out of our new 203CPBN feeders. The old flat-head bee-guards did not allow the bees or wasps to reach any syrup "pools" at the base of the Gloxinia flower. With the new round-head bee-guards the bees easily reach under the guards to slurp the syrup pools that accumulate at the base of the Gloxinia flowers. Which brings up another issue with the new 203CPBN which leaks profusely in gentle breezes compared to the old 203CP which had no leak issues (I had five of the old 203CP feeders) -- I never had Gloxinia syrup pools in the old feeder model. A new bee-guard design is moot if the new 203CPBN feeder leaks so much that it attracts hordes of bees and wasps that are able to reach for syrup pools under the round-head bee-guard. Glad I still had my old 203CP feeders with flat-head bee-guards and donated away the new leaky 203CPBN feeders with round-head bee guards. Perky-Pet needs to design less LEAKY feeders that won't accumulate syrup in the Gloxinia flower base or drip underneath the feeder base to the perches and maybe then the round-top bee-guards might actually be usable - I tried a new round-top bee-guard on my old 203CP feeder and had no issues with bees ONLY because the old narrow-mouth 203CP glass feeder does not leak syrup in gentle breezes. It's the new wide-mouth 203CPBN glass feeders that are leaking badly and attracting the bees around the new round bee-guards which don't keep the bees/wasps away when they have delicious leaking syrup to access under the round bee-guard. I applaud Perky-Pet for trying to be innovative but now the new design is useless -- my hummies love the old 203CP model with flat bee-guards because the syrup never leaks out and numerous hummies have plenty to drink with no bee issues. The only time syrup leaked out of our old 203CP feeders was in 100mph wind gusts yet by morning there was still an inch of syrup left for the hummies to have breakfast! Our 203CPBN feeders didn't have a drop of syrup left in them!!!! That's when the comparison made our decision to chuck the newest 203CPBN feeders and round bee-guards and keep only the old 203CP feeders with flat bee-guards. No more wide-mouth fill feeders for me -- only narrow-mouth feeders with hopefully inserts that equalize the feeder syrup so it won't leak out! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't Work! The bees simply crawled through the tiny openings in the bee guard domes and eventually died there making cleaning up the dead bodies a challenge. May 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by REPLACEMENT YELLOW BEE GUARDS The bee guards work as designed, befor installing we had so many bees that the humming birds couldn't feed at the feeder. October 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed It's that time of year again.. those adorable hummingbirds were letting us know it was time to refill their feeders... but the bee guards were all broken. So happy I found you and found what I needed. The hummingbirds in my garden thank you! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] May 30, 2016
