I'm most interested in using this as a rain/weather guard for a hanging feeder. Anyone have feedback on how well this would work for that purpose?

Answer:
not really a weather guard. The feeder hangs down too far.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap hardware makes it a bad idea to buy Good concept, but the product failed because the hardware is cheap plastic that doesn't hold a 20-lb bird feeder. I bought four of these, one for each birdhouse. Three of them fell to the ground. It broke one expensive bird feeder. The company should invest in metal hardware. July 3, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Worthless Bought two for our feeders and figured that by mounting them directly on the poles that the occasion for damage would be minimized. Not So!!! Wind got gusty last night and both baffler's cracked badly banging around. Guess the hard plastic is too brittle to take anything but a gentle breeze. Waste of my money and I guess I was wrong in thinking it would work for me. May 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Defeating my squirrels This has defeated our squirrels to date and it's been about a year. They've tried gnawing through it to get to the feeder but to no avail. It also helps to protect the seed from rain. I'm very pleased with this purchase - more than exceeded my expectations. May 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Paid for itself Pros: this paid for itself in the first two weeks by keeping the squirrels from eating the bird seed. It is also very entertaining to watch them try to get around it. Con: The squirrels chew on the plastic hook and destroy it. I replaced it with a 1/4 inch turn buckle from the hardware department still cheaper than the metal baffle available,. February 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Squirrel Baffler collar suggested repair As said by others the concentric collar that locates the baffle is the part that is not made well and is very brittle and it will easily crack during installation and or normal use. I did however fix this part by taking a piece of 1" PVC pipe that I cut to about 3- 4 inches long and then used PVC glue to the inside hole. I also drilled new holes for he screws in the end of this PVC pipe. I am surprised that this company who makes them has not come up with a new design January 18, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor exceuse for a baffle This is a terrible product. The set screws are near impossible to put in. I had to use a vise-grip to screw them in. The collar itself is made of a brittle plastc that cracks easily in cold weather. In addition even though the baffle is flexible, I accidentally dropped it and it shattered. On the plus side, it does keep the squirrels off the feeder - if you can get it installed.. January 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 21 pound squirrel After a few weeks, our baffler is broken. It was attached to the pole securing the feeder. Because it has a 20 pound rating, we must have 21 pound squirrels at our house. February 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far it has stopped the squirrels. The baffle is a necessary part of the feeder and it is suppended at a distance from the feeder that the squirrles can not reach the top of the feeder. A very good deturent. Thanks Jack Miller. June 20, 2016
