Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by birdiefreak Recommend it because it holds lots of seeds, good looking, I have no problem with squirrels, however, it leaks, so I put a small round plastic food container (which I painted) over the bird and that does the job but it has rusted very badly and at $34.99 it is an expensive feeder for me. Birds took to it about 4 or 5 days after I hung it up. Had it for couple of years.

Every day a squirrel would empty my feeder in a matter of minutes on the ground. Now the only seed he gets is the little bit the birds drop.

This feeder is nice and a little heavier than the others one in the store. I got this feeder at my local HD but it didn't take long for the squirrels and black birds figure it out how to move the squirrel guard. Since I filled up this with Songbird Supreme Wild Bird Food i have had tons of black birds and squirrels in this feeder. They scare away all the other birds they come to get food. The guard doesn't stop the squirrels and black birds of getting the food. Not happy at all with this purchase.

The productwas delivered in a perfect looking box. When I opened it up the feeder was severely damaged. The perching bar was bent and twisted. I think it was put in the box damaged. Will never purchase a Pirky Pet product.

Keeps squirrels out, but makes an excellent chipmunk feeder. The birds don't seem enamored by it whatsoever. Too difficult for birds to find access.

I have the metal version of this, only metal is a defense against squirrels.
Holes a ton of seed, less filling! ... except smart squirrels learn to hold onto sides, so perch doesn't close up seed feed holes - THEN they will try to empty this feeder.
Tried a Home Depot hanging clear dome - defeated sqirrels fro awhile but eventually squirrels defeated this combination. A larger dome can be found on line (~$55) but I am starting over with something not so wide and a sturdy hang dome that is at least 3" larger.
