I like this feeder...on my third one as the squirrels eventually destroy them :) Gotta love those little guys. But I do like them as they are pretty and the little birds just cover them up some times. The thing I don't like are the little springs, as they wear out and pop and the whole thing is useless. I buy another one and save the parts so I can do repairs hehe.

This Bird feeder does not live up to the claim of being squirrel proof the squirrels chase away the birds and feeds all day on the bird seed sitting on the top and hanging off the top of the bird feeder and holds on the feeder hugging the entire feeder

I have purchased this product before with good results ( this is why I recommend it) plus it lasted well over five years in all weather. It made many birds happy. However, this one has had issues with the the weight bearing top which has come apart and is a nuisance to rectify. I am probably going to return it for another one that is better constructed.

If squirrels are your problem, DO NOT BUY THIS FEEDER. It's a lovely feeder but the weighting mechanism was too sensitive for the cardinals so they stayed away. And unfortunately, the squirrels were deterred for only a short time. Ultimately, they gave up on the weighting mechanism and managed to pull the top off just enough to get the seed at the very top. When that was gone, they began chewing the plastic tube down to where the seed was. I began filling it only halfway - problem solved until they knocked it down and broke it entirely. So I bought another one and tightened the lid. Well, they just began chewing all around the openings at the bottom in spite of the weighting mechanism so that seed just falls out. I give up on this one!

No birds are using it. They stop by but cannot feed. It is squirrel proof though. THe seed will be in there indefinitely - good for the wallet, but sux for attracting birds.

Even though I have marked this as average, it did keep the squirrels at bay. We had to put a screw in the bottom, because it kept falling off (highly recommend doing this on 2 sides to keep the bottom on). The birds love this feeder! We put this feeder on a shepherd's hook, so the squirrels can't access the feed without hanging on the feeder which closes their access to the seeds. However, the square openings are too big for a chipmunk. The chipmunk ended up getting the metal tab off the opening and chewing the plastic open so big that it no longer holds the feed (it figured this out within about a month of purchasing it). Now looking for something with smaller openings that a chipmunk can't get into.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Michele Not Truly Squirrel Resistant
Owned this feeder for about 2 months. Feeder itself is very pretty. Birds love coming to it. I put the feeder on a shephard hook near a tree. Maybe my fault because too close to the tree, but the squirrels were all over it and slowly chewed at the plastic to make the holes bigger. If buying this product because it says squirrel resistant (like I did)-do not buy this product. If a squirrel can get to it, it is not resistant, and within a few weeks will be destroyed. The chewed holes were so large, it would no longer hold the seed and had to be trashed. We had the feeder on the most sensitive setting.
