Too bad this wasn't actually made out of copper (it's plastic)... squirrels chewed a fist sized hole in the top. I'm going to try to salvage it somehow.
Also, seeds get stuck in the part on the bottom between the base and tubes, causing them to sprout. I had a heck of a time cleaning that out - and it's not even all out.

This is our third Triple Tube Feeder. And we will buy again if our very smart black squirrel try to destroy it again. This obsessed black squirrel is jumping more than 8 feet from a tree to the bird feeder.
For a normal squirrel this feeder is perfect, they can not get in. Very well built, great to feed different birds, since we live very close to a State Park we have a wide variety of birds.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Carol46 sturdy, easy to fill
I have the 2nd bird feeder in over 10 years. It has gone through squirrels finding a way to jump on it and chew the plastic. It has gone through a bear grabbing the bottom off. Only problem I have is when it rains the bottom space gets seed in it and promotes mold growth. I have to take it apart to completely clean the bottom. It seems sunflower hearts cause the most problem....

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by swjdsmith Three tube feeder
I purchased this three tube feeder to replace another three tube feeder. The bottom portion of the feeder was broken nearly in half by a deer attempting to eat the bird seed. This is with a four foot high fence around the feeder. Like my old unit, the entire feeder is made of plastic, except for the perches and bans around the feed holes. Initially I thought the top and bottom were also made of metal since they were copper color. Even though they are plastic they look nice. The copper color unit makes a nice addition to my yard. Based on my aluminum color older unit this feeder should last for at least five years, if the deer will behave themselves. I can not say how long the copper color will hold up at this time. Hopefully it too will last. I highly recommend this feeder based on experience with a similar unit and aesthetics at this time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Trench55 Still my favorite feeders but has design problems
I have owned a couple of these feeders for 18 years, and one of them finally just fell apart from old age and long use. So I ordered three new ones as replacement. In the interim period the design was changed from a fixed internal nylon (I think) baffle over each port to the current flip down plastic baffel. As mentioned in a previous review it doesn't take squirrles long to destroy these flip baffles, and that lets the bird seed just run out. This has never happened with the older design.
That said, I have been able to repair the problem by drilling a series of nine small holes in an arc over the port and screw 1 inch screws into each hole creating a metal baffle that works just fine. It's a nuisance, but it works. However, I wish the manufacturer would go back to the old design of 20 years ago. It was a superior design. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I purchased the bird feeder for my son-in-law for his birthday. He was so pleased and raved about how well it was made and that it is nice and large, which is great for where they live. He loved the idea of being able to use 3 different seeds at once. He put it on a Shepherds Hook and it is working out well, the birds love it and the deer can't get to it. I bought this because I had one similar that just wore out. This was almost like the one I had but as I filled it I wondered if the tubes were a bit longer. Then after I hung it I realized the squirrel baffle was not the proper diameter, for the length of the tubes, to keep one of my squirrels from preforming a somersault, grabbing the tray at the bottom and having a wonderful dining experience. If the baffle was just 2 inches bigger in diameter my acrobatic squirrel could not have had such a wonderful experience.
