Is this wore compatible with invisible fence brand transmitter & box?

Asked by: Lynn
It worked fine with my Innotek invisible fence system. As long as it's the same gauge wire, it should work with most systems.

Can I use thicker wire instead of 20guage? I was thinking 10guage? Some areas where it's not buried always seems to get broken. I figured thicker wire would hold up better. Thank you.
Asked by: Doug
Great question, Doug! Thicker wire can be used. However, 14 gauge is the heaviest wire that will fit into the ports on the transmitter. The wire needs to be the same gauge all the way through as different gauges can cause inconsistencies in the signal. If you are wanting to change the gauge, all of the current wire will need to be pulled up and replaced all at once.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In-Ground fence from PetSafe is very effective My dog was occasionally deciding to "take the shock" if there was enough of a temptation, so I bought this extra wire and created some 'S' curves in the backyard boundary to increase the width of just that portion of the boundary. Problem solved!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big Bang 4 Buck This is a much thinner wire than what was originally installed but fixed my problem. Quote from fence company, $440, My cost, less than $30 and a bit of sweat equity. Only needed to use 50-60 ft to fix problem so plenty leftover for any future repairs. Happy camper:)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product is fine. I wish it were a little stronger. I have about a 1000 foot pet containment area in a rural setting, so I have some issues with wild animals (deer, coyotes, etc.) so I have to replace the wire fairly often, as it is not practical to have it all buried.
