Don't bother. Cheap and flimsy. The instructions actually suggest that you use duct tape! I don't want to rig it to make it work! Now I have to do it twice.

Very pleased with this PetSafe plastic door. I have 2 yorkies less than 10 lbs each. They say the small door is the correct size. I think they are nuts. I bought the medium, up to 40 lb dog, which is the perfect size. I don’t think my dogs would use the smaller door. The box has a picture of a collie using this medium door. There is no way a collie can fit through this door. Buy the next bigger size than they say. I installed this door into my very cheap, back yard, storm door. The cut-out I framed with 1x2 furring strip for added support (on the inside) due to my flimsy storm door. Otherwise, every time the dogs would use the doggie door, it would wobble in & out from them pushing their heads into the flap. This is working out great. I just open my exterior house door, then the dogs go through the pet door, in the storm door, & out into the fenced in yard. For the first 2 days I taped the flap up so the dogs would get used to going in and out of this little doorway. They caught on quick. Then I dropped the flap down. One dog understood what to do as soon as I bumped her head against the flap a few times. The other dog took several bumps and a couple days. I did switch the screws with the size I needed. I don’t trust the plastic screws that come with the pet-door.

It was an exact replacement as we had worn the last one out in about 6 years. I was glad to find the same one again - made the install trivial.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Barb Great dog door for smaller dogs.
I installed this my self. Easy really, but the paper tore with the drill and jig saw. I would trace it out then remove the paper.. The saw did run away on the first cut, so I had to reposition the door on one side.. I placed it in a storm door's bottom pannel. It closes up completely on the thin pannel, which is great.
Took two weeks before the dogs, Chihuahua's to get used to it. without me holding the flap open in and out as needed. (thank U squirrel and rain for helping!) Now they come and go as they like without fear of the flap that makes noise both ways that scared them mostly. And I am grateful they are finally using it!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eddie Instructions for the installation are wrong! There is no need to cut the spacers between the front and back any wider than the thickness of the door.
Spacers would not fit when cut per instructions. Distance between the front panel and the back panel should be the width of the door and nothing more.

Easy to install, excellent price.I am using it in a door in my garage. In this case no security problems ..If it is going to be used in a door with access to your house, you should consider a security issue.

This door is flexible even in freezing weather and we are able also to keep main door open at those temps without draft problems. Easier to install on door removed from jam.
