Answer:
The dimensions of the outside of the door are 10 1/2" x 15". It's best to wait until you get the detailed instructions for the exact size of the opening to cut.

Answer:
Hi Chris, thanks for your question. If your entire storm door is glass, no it cannot be installed. You would be unable to cut the glass for your door without damaging it.

What model pet door can be used on the screen door, not the screen? There's a hole already cut in the bottom of my door from a pet door that is broken

I have an 8X10" hole cut in the solid part of my screen door from a dog door that is broken and needs to be replaced. I cannot find the model door that was there before and the store where I bought it no longer carries it. What model dog door can be fitted to the door, not the screen? I can enlarge the hole if I need to. Thanks.

Answer:
The cut-out would most certainly need to be modified, but the Large PetSafe® Freedom™ Aluminum Door PPA00-10861 cut out is just under 11 x 18 inches (this number is not exact, please use template included with the door for dimensions). The Large PetSafe® Plastic Pet Door PPA00-10960 cut-out is right around 11x19 inches (again, approximate, always use the template) and it may work for your scenario.

The coop is in a secured place so I would not have to look the door at night but would the chickens be able to go in and out as easily as dogs or cats?

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dimensions not accurate Door looks to be of good quality but the dimensions on the website are not accurate. The outside dimensions of the door are 10 1/2" x 15" and the dimensions of the opening are 8 1/4" x 13 1/2" (the dimensions of the opening are even listed inaccurately on the box!) August 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No, No, No! Don't bother. Cheap and flimsy. The instructions actually suggest that you use duct tape! I don't want to rig it to make it work! Now I have to do it twice. April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My Yorkies Love It Very pleased with this PetSafe plastic door. I have 2 yorkies less than 10 lbs each. They say the small door is the correct size. I think they are nuts. I bought the medium, up to 40 lb dog, which is the perfect size. I don’t think my dogs would use the smaller door. The box has a picture of a collie using this medium door. There is no way a collie can fit through this door. Buy the next bigger size than they say. I installed this door into my very cheap, back yard, storm door. The cut-out I framed with 1x2 furring strip for added support (on the inside) due to my flimsy storm door. Otherwise, every time the dogs would use the doggie door, it would wobble in & out from them pushing their heads into the flap. This is working out great. I just open my exterior house door, then the dogs go through the pet door, in the storm door, & out into the fenced in yard. For the first 2 days I taped the flap up so the dogs would get used to going in and out of this little doorway. They caught on quick. Then I dropped the flap down. One dog understood what to do as soon as I bumped her head against the flap a few times. The other dog took several bumps and a couple days. I did switch the screws with the size I needed. I don’t trust the plastic screws that come with the pet-door. April 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dog Door It was an exact replacement as we had worn the last one out in about 6 years. I was glad to find the same one again - made the install trivial. September 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good works as expected easy install looks good.....dog learned fast use of door September 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great dog door for smaller dogs. I installed this my self. Easy really, but the paper tore with the drill and jig saw. I would trace it out then remove the paper.. The saw did run away on the first cut, so I had to reposition the door on one side.. I placed it in a storm door's bottom pannel. It closes up completely on the thin pannel, which is great. Took two weeks before the dogs, Chihuahua's to get used to it. without me holding the flap open in and out as needed. (thank U squirrel and rain for helping!) Now they come and go as they like without fear of the flap that makes noise both ways that scared them mostly. And I am grateful they are finally using it!! July 31, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by excellent door Easy to install, excellent price.I am using it in a door in my garage. In this case no security problems ..If it is going to be used in a door with access to your house, you should consider a security issue. December 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Instructions for the installation are wrong! There is no need to cut the spacers between the front and back any wider than the thickness of the door. Spacers would not fit when cut per instructions. Distance between the front panel and the back panel should be the width of the door and nothing more. December 10, 2014
