How to fix problem of poor flow through spout?

This question is from Harbor High-Arc 2-Handle Standard Kitchen Faucet in Polished Chrome

After a few years of good operation, water still flows through the side spray just fine, but it's barely dribbling through the spout. I cleared/cleaned the aerator, and that's not the problem. Both hot and cold water go through the side spray, so the problem is not in the hot/cold valves. The problem seems to be located in the spout base, past the side spray tube. I've tried unscrewing the spout housing/base, in order to take a look in there, but it does not budge. I used to be able to restore the spout flow by gunning the side spray on and off until proper spout flow resumed, but that trick no longer works. The problem seems to be related to not using the side spray for a long time. The water in the side spray tube evaporates, apparently causing a problem in the spout. Merely using the side spray fixed the problem at first, but not anymore. I think this indicates a design flaw in this product. Water should always flow through the spout, regardless of how much or how little the side spray is used.

Pfister model #F-036-CL4C can be used without the sidesprayer. Threaded cap #972-005 will need to ordered to cap off the side sprayer outlet tube. Please visit Home Depot special order counter for availability or contact Pfister Consumer Service for further details at 1-800-732-8238.

You are correct – you will need to block off the point of connection so the water will only flow through the faucet body. The folks at Price Pfister told me that you will need Part # 972005 - Cap Side Sprayer Plug - the plug that is needed if the side sprayer is not used. The part can be ordered directly from Price Pfister (1-800-732-8238).

Answer:
Hello Dan,
To remove the stripped screw I suggest using a screw extractor. The extractor allows you to drill into the stripped screw head and then turn the problem screw.
The screws I have encountered have been #6 or #8 machine screws in most cases. The company DANCO makes a small kit of replacement handle screws that may be helpful. I've included links to both items below. I hope this helps.

how to stop constant drip

the hot water cannot be shut off. It started as a periodic drip and has increased to a constant flow. The handle is turned off as far as possible and the o-rings were tightened when the dripping started and it stopped for only a few minutes at that time. faucet worked fine, with no dripping, for several months after installation, and nothing has been done to the faucet to change the installation.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Looks nice, but isn't durable. Replacement cartridges don't last I like double handled faucets with high clearance like this, but this faucet that I brought from Home Depot a couple years ago tuned out not to be very durable. After about two years it began to drip, and I replaced the cartridges which had fallen apart when I opened it to see if there was a simple solution. I was not able to get the cartridges at the closest Home Depot (South Bay, Dorchester, MA) where I had bought the faucet. I had to go to the Somerville, MA store to get the parts. Unfortunately within a few months the drip was back and actually worse than ever. I decided to replace the faucet with a single-lever Moen Essie that I hope will be more durable, but cost twice as much. When uninstalling the Price Pfister Harbor, I discovered the screw nipple that hods the sprayer collar to the sink was breaking from below, falling to pieces. It is made of quite thin plastic, and the force of the hose rubbing against it was sufficient to cause it to crack. The sprayer had never worked well, and the hose never really unkinked from how it was stored in the packaging. The sprayer on the Moen Essie uses quick connectors to attach to a diverter under the sink, and seems to have a better steel jacketed hose. The Moen faucet seems good, and its sprayer works much better so far... time will tell if they live up to their motto. May 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great customer service and love the faucet I had a problem with my last faucet and the people at pfister took what product number that I did have, and figured it up to the absolute faucet that was mine. Then, they sent me at NO CHARGE, A brand new complete assembly!!!! I was able to install it and it has worked great ever since. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] July 15, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Multiple Replacements I purchased this product because it looked good at a great price. This was an error. I do not recommend this product. I had to replace it twice in 2 years because the hot water handle failed (same thing both times - the faucet handle snapped and became innoperable). The first time, I thought it was an unfortunate problem with my unit. But a recurrence of the same problem made it clear that this is a manufacturing flaw with deficient parts. Don't waste your money if you want a faucet that will function for more than one year. November 28, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good but... Installed and worked for 2 1/2 months then started pulsing with hot or cold or both turned on. At first made a thump when turned on but then worked ok until the pulsing started. Back to Home depot within the 90 day return policy. Purchased another brand. R September 16, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fitchen sink fauset easey to install and quick The fauset that was picked out for the way it looked and will last it will be there for as long as Sis lives there and then some. I have used this style before and it is one of the best for the price alltho it is a little pricy. After getting instaled and my sister seen it for the first time she was almost speachless and was upset because she thought that I had spent a fourtichen on the fauset. But to her supprise it was not and it realy made the whole kitchen look better. January 17, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very satisfied We purchased this about 20 years ago never had any problems except the nut that holds the sprayer to the sink broke, and reported the broken nut and after 19 years it started to drip, but after calling your company they replaced the valves and the nut free. That is what I call a fantastic company, I will no doubt purchase another if it ever wears out but I don't believe that it will.
