Is there a trick to removing the drain stopper cap?

I saw the previous answer re cleaning the drain stopper, it's supposed to manually unthread. But my drain stopper cap just turns around and around, I can't unscrew it to remove it.

Will I need teflon tape?

The installation video doesn't show the installer using the white teflon tape around the cold and hot water inlet threads and also the water supply lines. Is the teflon tape not needed to avoid leaks?
Asked by: notaprofessional
No.

Pasadena 8 in. Widespread 2-Handle Bathroom Faucet in Polished Chrome is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 340.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for about a year then seized up. Internals crumbled. Worked fine for about a year. Good looking faucet, but quality is lacking. Hot and cold sides started to seize up a few months ago. I cleaned both and the cold seemed to turn normal, but the hot side got worse and harder to turn. As shown the hot "cartridge" has crumbled on the bottom. The handles themselves are very hard to turn. Hopefully Home Depot or Pfister will replace it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware of long term use After a year, the handles would barely turn due to corrosion of the piece inside. Upon opening, the inside was completely rusted out - why in the world would they use a cheap metal inside instead of stainless? To save a few pennies? On top of that what ever is leaking to cause the corrosion? C'mon - you guys are better than that. And don't give me the "Pforever" warranty stuff - what are you going to do, send me the internals and have my dismantle and replace? I am going to go to an entirely different brand, thank you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from junk the washers that attach the faucets to the sink are steel. rust forms within weeks after installation and appears between the faucet and sink. After 3 years of trying to keep the rust away I decided to upgrade. The steel washers were so rusted that the corrosion ate through the nickel. The sink had to be removed so the faucets could be cut off. The money I thought I saved on this inexpensive faucet I just spent on 3 hours of labor just trying to remove them. Don't waist your money on Pfister.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware.... We bought 6 of these for our three bathrooms probably a little over a year ago and have had nothing but trouble with the handles seizing up. When the first one messed up Pfister suggested it was a cartridge problem but I told them it was clearly the handle and they did send me a new one. Now I have two more handles that have seized up. I need to change them all out again and go with a different brand as I am struggling to find just the handles for sale anywhere.

I have one of these in a bathroom installed as part of a remodel in late 2013. The handles have been steadily getting more difficult to turn and now the whole thing turns at the surface of the vanity top. I am remodeling 2 more bathrooms ( which have original working faucets from 1987!). I am looking for stylish yet functional faucets in other brands. I see others have reported the same problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water Damage from Failed Plastic Components All plastic fittings. The very thin connector for the hot water broke in half after one year of service, leaving hot water spewing all over the floor in the middle of the night. Luckily caught it after about 30 minutes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look great instruction to install are terrible!!! I recently bought 2 of these faucets and decided to hook them up this past Saturday. 8 hours later, I was done.....with one! The faucet itself looks amazing. The instructions to install the faucet are terrible!!! The instructions are unclear, poor diagrams and they should of included a tool to tighten the bolts but they didn't!!. I am pretty good at home improvement but this was one of the worst things i have ever had to install. The instructions at times lead you to a dead end of unclear diagrams. Its like the person that wrote them decided he/she didn't want to get to granular so they did the bare minimum and you will pay for it. Washers gaskets all are labeled things like f4 or g4 but appear as a circle on the diagram with no clear understanding of if it is a washer or a gasket that goes on. Oh wait they already put it on, no wait they told you to disassemble it all before you install that piece. These are the kind of unclear confusing convoluted instructions you will get when you buy a Pfiester faucet. Good luck and be sure to set aside 8 hours to install. You need all of it!
