Customer Reviews

36 in. x 50 ft. Black SunTex 80 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny! As a do it yourselfer this screen is exceptionally easy to work with and the end result was amazing. One of my greatest concerns was: would I need to put a sheer or blind on my outside door or would the 80 block enough of the sun. My concerns are dismissed. It even makes it difficult to see if anyone is on the porch from the outside but you can still see out. Very sturdy, looking forward to many hours out on the porch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. Tough as nails too. These screen will now last forever; very durable, very strong product. Noticed an immediate difference in inside temp. The glare was also not as apparant as with the old screening. It does have a tinting affect and does darken the room. Neighbors noticed the improved appearence of the black screen against white window frames and black shutters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shade and visibility, cleans easily It was very easy to rollout and install even though these are heavier rolls. The screen is easily mounted, and easy to keep clean. Has held up well to pushes with child's hands...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective at Blocking Solar Gain We saw SunTex used in a friend's desert home. As they were very satisfied with the heat reduction it provided, we decided to make solar screens for our East Coast home. We made screens for 1/2 of our west facing rooms and left the others "as is". Temperatures in the solar screened rooms averaged about 2 degrees lower than in the other rooms. We have ordered additional fabric to convert the remaining screens. Due to the thickness of the material, the screening can be somewhat harder to install than standard screening. Best to have someone help you who can pull the splining to stretch it thinner while you roll it into place. Rooms are slightly darker during the day. This light reduction is on par with what you would experience if you had large shade trees. We do not find it to be a problem. Very satisfied with this product and looking forward to having the A/C run less to hold the temp on the thermostat. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking for the next step in saving energy/looking to reduce heat gain.
