Would this product stand up to a Canadian winter. We have installed three 5x2 1/2 foot screens on our west facing window for the great sun and heat resistant factors. Was wondering about if the product will stand up to the winds and freezing we get up here in Alberta ,Canada. we got down to some minus 35 to 40 degrees F. last year. Thanks for your time.

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Noticeably less visible than "Clear Advantage" I was so unsure which would be better after hours of online research so I got this screen, and New York Wire Clear Advantage Screen, to compare. The difference was slight but the Home depot stuff was a bit blacker, so less visible at night than the clear advantage, and also slightly less obstructive, so also less visible during the day. I think it is cheaper as well - though I got different sizes and amounts so I'm not sure of that. It may be less durable, however, but for my purposes this did not matter so I did not do comparison testing on this. It is a small matter but also I prefer the square dimensions of the screen as opposed to the Clear Advantage which was slightly rectangular. I did have one instance of where I accidentally split the screen at the seam while burnishing it into the groove, but by being careful not to burnish it against a sharp corner I was able to do the rest with no problems. Both screens also claim to have a matte finish, which is not the case - there is a slight sheen which makes the screen glisten at night, maybe this will diminish over time. Both screens were equally reflective or nearly so. Again if I had to choose I'd say the Ultravue was slightly less reflective. August 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great visibility I re-screened a porch using the Screen Tight system and the Ultravue Screen. It is a very light weight screen. You can get the screen pretty tight, but be careful not to over-tension when covering very large openings as the screen can distort making it more suitable to a rip. Screen has very good airflow. When the sun is not shining on it, it is practically invisible. I would not expect this screen to be as durable as normal screen., but it's a trade off I will take. Attached photo is with screen installed. I will probably buy more and use on my window screens. June 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WORTH IT At first I did one window screen next to another window and wasn't necessarily blown away by the new screen. I asked my better half if he could pick out which windows I did and he was able to. So, I pressed on and did all screens downstairs over two days. All our windows are 1 year old and came with the standard grey fiberglass screens. They're not damaged or anything, we just have a lot of windows and I wanted a clearer view out of them. This 50' roll will do every single one of our windows, so that was a great value. A large table, utility knife, good scissors, and screen mouse/tool are necessary. The biggest screen was just under 2x3' and I was able to complete them all myself. This was the first time I have re-screened but I am a pro in other remodeling/construction areas so comfortable with trying. I was worried about having wrinkles, but found it too easy to make them too taught and found myself trying to make them a bit loose and they'd come out just right. It took about 3 practice tries with one scrap piece to get the hang of it. It wasn't until a day or so after I was done that I looked across the open room and thought "Wow, that window is super clear." That's when I realized the screens had made a noticeable difference and it was worth it in the end to buy the material and re-screen the windows for a better view out (oh, and they do look better from outside too). The materials is dark black and very fine screen so there is more open space and less color distortion looking through it. I hope they last as no one has come back after a few years to say otherwise in their review. Time will tell, but it's worth re-screening if necessary. I am enjoying my solid green view of spring out my windows now! April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product. Good value. Great for use as a more transparent screen material for preserving a nice view. Replaced the screen fabric in existing window screen frames. This was much less expensive than having screens replace by a third party. Ultra Vue material is a little more fragile than normal screening and therefore probably not suitable for very large openings like sliding doors. May 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Best Insect Screen Available (at the store) I replaced the insect screen on all of the 18 windows and WOW, what a difference. From the INSIDE, I've seen more light comes in the house and its an awesome view. You can barely notice that a screen in on the window. From the OUTSIDE, It complements that window, and you see more of the paint color behind the screen than before. I forgot to mention that its also STRONG. I love this screen and highly recommend it to others. January 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT PRODUCT (we'll see how long it lasts) I have a window cleaning company and we do rescreening for some of my customers. I bought a 50' roll of this stuff and it turned out beautiful! From about 5 steps back the screen becomes virtually invisible and the amount of light that is allowed to pour into a room is really nice. UltraView allows me to offer an upgrade to customers instead of just a replacement which means that I don't have to wait until their current screens get so tattered that we need to change them. I'm able to pitch a one-time rescreening of their entire home! :D Also I've purchased similar products in the past and they've been over twice the cost so being able to pick this product up for a reasonable rate allows me to pass the savings onto my customers and everybody is happy. The only worry I have is the longevity of the product since I've never used it. I'm curious to see how they fare under intense UV. I've guaranteed them for 3 years as long as we continue to clean the windows at least biannually but I may be shooting myself in the foot (time will tell) Good job HomeDepot and the UltraView team! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product! I re-screened several windows with the Phifer Ultravue material and they turned out great. At a distance, it is hard to see that there is even a screen on the window. Very good visual clarity. Will be ordering more for the remaining windows. April 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by As advertised, but not as "invisible" as I'd like Delivery was quick, product was exactly as advertised, and it installed just fine. I just wish it were more "invisible", hence the 4-star rating Perhaps it's not fair to ding the product for this - no one ever claimed it matched Andersen's "TruScene", but the latter is not available to the public in bulk rolls, so this was the best I could find. So, if you need good quality, reasonably invisible screen, this is fine. July 10, 2012
