I had a couple of west facing windows in my home that were really heating up the adjacent rooms. I decided to give the Sun Tex screens a try. I made a pair of screens out of easily available frames to cover the entire window area. I used simple clips to mount the screen to the perimeter casing, I will remove the screens in the winter to take advantage of the sun. The screens have made a huge improvement in the temperature of the rooms. We are even able to open the blinds to let the light in during the day because the screen cuts down on much of the solar gain. They are barely noticeable from the outside. One hint on making the screens, I would suggest using a spline cord that is 1 size smaller than the frame requires, the thickness of the screen makes it hard to roll the spline into the frame.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shannon111 It works.
We installed this material on our two west-facing skylights (one of which is at the top of our 30' vault). I knew it was working when I went upstairs and there was little to no change in the temperature from downstairs to upstairs on an 85 degree day. It really does keep a majority of the heat out. I admit I was skeptical, but I am really, really impressed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by sunny works as advertised, strong.
Using this to build external screens for my southern exposure windows. Wish I had done this years ago. Outward visibility is great as is the sun diffusion and reduction of heat. We had been just keeping the blinds closed up till now but you could feel the heat radiating when you got near them. Having these screens on the outside keeps the heat from entering the house in the first place.
This screen is thick and strong. The kind of screen you would use around pets that like to use their paws. I have since switched to using the 90% Super Solar Screen. It is not as thick; easier to work with and has about the same visibility.

Really unbelievable how much heat this screen stops from entering the house. Highly recommended for situations where you have a lot of glass and a lot of sun beating in.

very satisified with this screen. it has made my pool house cooler by keeping out the sun. you can see out but limited vision when trying to see in which gives privacy. unless you have lights on it is totally private from neighbors. breeze is restricted but does allow some and willing to accept that for limiting the heat from the sun. screen is heavier than regular screen so I feel it will last and look better longer. it was easy to install. we just used commercial stapler to hang screen and finished each window with a nice wood trim. so we can replace individual window if need be. I highly recommend this product... I will be replacing the window screens on my house with suntex 80 to help keep the house cooler

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Seeker Great for skylight covering
I had been looking for an inexpensive way to lessen the heat entering the house through our 2 skylights and this has worked very well. It's been in place for about 3 months now and seems to be holding up well through the rain and sun. I didn't do a before and after temperature comparison, but my feeling is that the temp under the skylights is 5 to 10 degrees F less than it was. Also, the visibility is still very good, only slightly less than before.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tboh Very Durable Product
The Suntex 80 screen is thicker than the normal screen, a little tougher to roll on, but looks and performs excellent.
Phifer makes an excellent product with excellent product
support. This screen will last a long time and diffuses the sunlight.
