The screen works as advertised. I changed out one screen and left the original screen in the window next to it for comparison. The window sill of the solar screen was noticeably cooler. The solar screen, itself, was warmer than the other screen. (Makes sense because it was trapping the heat from passing through.) Installation was more difficult than a normal screen because of the thickness of the solar screen. The channel width of the screen frames are relatively consistent and I was using the smallest spline available (1/8"). Seating the spline into the channel was a challenge. The extra effort , however, should pay off this summer. I am changing out all my west windows. Also, the privacy factor is a bonus. I will change out my road side bedroom and livingroom screens for that reason.

The best solution for our summer problems. Our living room has huge windows and it gets really hot that even our a/c cant make it to a comfortable temperature. I installed these covering the entire 3 windows and what a big difference! Its like a miracle! Im not kidding though! Without the solar screen it gets up 95...with Solar screen its 70's. Just giving you a heads up...if you install them yourself, be ready for some strong muscle because since its thicker than normal screen, its quite an exercise to install the screen in the aluminium rods. Also be sure to get 7/16 aluminium thick rod and not 5/16. Trust me on this one! Now im so excited for summer.

The product was exactly as advertised.
The old spline was flat .3125", or 5/16". Was easier to install with flat Pet Spline, which is about the same width but appears to be not quite as thick. Some compensation for the material's extra thickness was helpful.
In the top groove, which was just under the ceiling, it was hard to use the spline roller, so I just tapped it in with a concrete chisel.
Installation was on the west wide of a lanai, and now with direct sun on it, it's like sitting in the shade.
It does a great job of reducing heat buildup and excessive glare.
It's a great alternative to putting up a pergola, or lattice, or roller blinds.

Does a nice job of keeping the intensive western sun from heating up the inside rooms as well giving us a little privacy during the day.

I ordered this to cover a palladiun window above my front door. I lost two trees that used to shade the window and I was getting cooked.
It's a heavy fabric, but cut to size easily. I attached a dozen 2" suction cups (purchased from an online auction site) around the perimeter and mounted on the inside of the window. It makes a big difference. It does darken the front hall, but I will take that trade off.
I have since ordered a larger roll and will be treating my other windows in the same manner. Mounting on the inside makes them less noticeable from the outside and is easier than mounting in window screen frames.

I was forced by my HOA to change my screens so I wanted to go with something that would save energy and help with privacy. I got what I wanted with Suntex 90. At night with the light on you cannot see inside my house from the outside.
