can I use this bulb in a ceiling fan?

can I use this bulb in a ceiling fan?
Asked by: napoliman
Increased vibration is not desirable in the Halogen technology. This greatly increases the risk of a non-passive failure, and is not recommended to be used in ceiling fans.

Wish I would have seen the online reviews before I purchased the bulb at the store. Philips should be pulling these bulbs off the shelves as being defective, but instead they are allowing them to be sold.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burn out fast We have 3 fans installed 10 Dec 2016. Its now 3 March 2017 and each fixture has burned thru 2 of these bulbs. I kept buying because the lumens are awesome. Wish they'd last more than a few weeks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No life No service life. I have only use for one of these in my home and I change it at least 10 times more often than other types of bulbs. Contemplated purchasing another fan/light to get this bulb out of my life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed This bulb burns out in a matter of months. I keep a spare with the invoice wrapped around it. I am an electrical contractor and know how to install it without getting finger prints on the glass. I am now looking into an LED equivalent. One of the companies that I order from indicates that they have an LED but you need to identify the base as either and E14 or E 27. You cannot tell by the LED photo which base it has. Philips does not indicate which base other than "mini candelabra." Looking for the number of the base.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pretty consistently bad I buy these bulbs for ceiling fans with dimmer. I have two. They both burn through these in about 3 months with just a bit of use in the AM and PM. At first I thought it was because I was touching the bulbs, but it has continued even after installing w/o touching and cleaning with alcohol after installation. At nine bucks a pop, they should at least last the three years they indicate...not three months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Waste of Money I've bought 6 of these in the past 6 months to replace the so called inefficient bulbs that still worked after 5 years. After burning thru the 6 I had purchased, I put the 3 old ones back in and they work like a champ. Don't waste your time or money on these energy saving bulbs. I am looking for an LED equivalent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Longevity farless than what's advertised Advertised life is 1.5 years. I've never gotten more than a few months out of these bulbs. I started keeping track of when I installed them and how long they last and the last two lasted weeks - not even months. Don't waste your money on these bulbs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage Bulbs If I could have given these bulbs a "0" I would have. I just installed three and got 2 weeks out of all of them. Generally if I got a couple of months out of them I was lucky. Horrible product. I'm looking elsewhere for a new brand and new bulbs.
