Answer:
Phillips LED lights are bright white. They are by far the brightest I have found. Of course, they are bigger than a typical halogen, so you have to be sure they will fit in your fixture. They are a little pricey, too, but if they last as long as advertised that will be a good value. They currently run about $11, They are getting harder to find, however.

Answer:
These are quite bright, especially the 4K ones. I would use them outside to light a pathway, but not to light up a feature in the yard.

Hi Terrell,
When looking for brightness in lights, you can look at the lumens. This product, the 2.5-Watt (10-w) T3 Outdoor Landscape Capsule LED Light Bulb has a lumen output of 100 lumens; a lumen is a measure of the visible light output a bulb has, and the higher a lumen output a bulb has, the brighter it is. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bright bulbs, plenty of light. Base gets very hot. The bulbs themselves are very nice. The 4K ones are bright white, which puts off a very clean and sterile light. The 3K ones are nice as well, with a softer light. The ceramic base of these bulbs gets very, very hot. Do not try to touch the base after the bulb has been on. I bought seven at one time. Out of that seven, one did not work at all, and a couple others would flicker on and off after being on for 10 minutes. I called Philips, who told me to return them all and get new ones. With the seven new bulbs, they all worked with no flickering. Just remember, the 4K is a bright *white* light. Like a hospital operating room. Some people do not like that bright of a light. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY EVER!!!!! I bought five of these bulbs at $12 each. The first one burned out in less than three months. I replaced that bulb. Last week a brief power outage blew all five bulbs. So these 15 year bulbs cost me $82 and lasted about 9 months. April 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Happy With These Bulbs You should be aware that these lights are WHITE, not the golden tinged white color of typical halogens. I use them in my landscaping, but have stayed with the halogen bulbs on my deck which produce a softer, golden-hued light. These bulbs are not as subject to the voltage drop that dim typical bulbs on the end of a long line, so they allow you to run lights throughout a yard with less concern about how long the line is getting to be. Also, the lower wattage means more lamps can be connected to a transformer. Be sure you get the bulb with the correct base for your fixture. The packages are clearly labeled, but I'm often planning projects in my head while picking up supplies and I've picked up the wrong bulbs a couple of times. I do wish Phillips would make the packaging a little different. I have not used the lens that comes with them. I'm not sure it will fit in the fixtures I have. July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for Malibu 20W "spot" fixtures too I have used these in the basic Malibu fixtures in place of 20W halogen bulbs, along with other Philips MR 5.5W (which also work great). I have some long cable runs in excess of 100' away from the 12V transformer, and these LED lamps are not affected by the voltage drop like the halogens are, not to mention you can get more fixtures on a given power supply by using LEDs. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Design Issue This lamp is claimed to be usable as an outdoor landscape lamp Beware it is not IPX67 rated and I now have 10 of these that are showing signs of corrosion under the lens assembly and I have only used them for 2 mos. evidently when the lamp warms up and there is moisture on lamp during cool down all moisture is wicked into lamp assembly causing internal corosion, not for use in Southern Lousiana July 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked Perfectly This was the best money i had spent on such a small bulb. The light is cleaner, brighter, and the bulb is not finicky like the halogen it replaced. December 27, 2013
