These work great in my 12vac malibu landscape lighting in the pathway lights (some wedge, some pin style) and as a spot light using the (pin style). I think they are a much tighter spot than the 20w MR16. I was able to almost triple the amount of lights connected to my 300w malibu transformer, it reduced voltage drop and allowed much longer runs. Great white color light, easy install and great diversity with the removable piece on the front for using it as a spot or a pathway light.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JJC9 Bought 16 of these and couldn't be happier
I am so happy Philips makes these bulbs! I've converted much of my house lighting to LEDs, but I couldn't find any easy solution for all the halogen bulbs in my landscape lighting.
These bulbs from Philips were exactly what I needed. My 16 landscape lights were using 173 watts total with the old halogens (measured with a watt meter), and after replacing all the bulbs, usage went down to 67 watts--a 60% reduction, which is huge given that the lights are on all night every night.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by SDHMD There is a European option, and why not here?
Well, I got one of these and really don't like the blue white light. With the very high quality of Luxeon 2700K LED's Philips has available why don't they use those in these? Philips owns Luxeon. In fact, Europe has access to a 2700K Philips equivalent to these 12V bulbs..... we can't use the Philips European 220V bulbs here or in Canada, but we sure could use those 12V European bulbs here.
So, I found a retailer in London who was willing to ship the 2700K ones here.... got two, they are fantastic quality light, and omnidirectional. Don't ask the cost....... I'm using those inside in two special art fixtures..... get them here for us, and I'll convert all my landscape lighting to these, for sure.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SanataHelper Best LED Upgrade for Holiday Decorations using MR11 Halogen Bulb
This bulb is the best LED Upgrade I have found to date to replace the MR11 10 Watt 12 volt Halogen Flood bulbs used in Holiday Luminated Decorations using a motor-driven Color Wheel. At 3 Watts, using LED lumination, it reduces heat build-up inside decorations yet still produces brilliant color output for its size. Installed without the detachable lense cap it fits into everything from ceramic buildings to tree-top angels and Santas. Worth the extra cost for peace-of-mind for extended use in Home Holiday Decorations because of lower maintenance, lower power use and lower fire danger.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BG481 Expensive, but better light for less wattage
Bought this to replace a burned out 10 watt T-3 driveway light. It's expensive but the light is much whiter and illuminates that portion of the driveway noticeably better. The lower wattage will eventually enable me to add additional lights (as I replace other bulbs as they fail.) Will keep an eye on the promised extended life. Won't do much to decrease my overall electricity usage, but every little bit helps.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by neil393 Well made, but not a good color temperature
This product has a color temperature of 4000K, which is much higher than any product it might replace, which are typically 2700K at most. So even though it is closer to natural sunlight, it looks too blue indoors and in any situation where any other existing halogens are in use. Nowhere in the product spec does it say what the color temp is, which is unacceptable. If it were 2700K it would be much more suitable for the intended use. The construction, brightness, and diffuser are very nice. I would use a lot of these if they were 2700K.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Linstated Perfect fit for my Malibu CL9
I can't believe the brightness of LED and lowest wattage. I have a few older Malibu floodlights CL9. Works great.Be careful when you order this. Don't be confused with the "wedge" style.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JonnyP excellent product
I brought these LED bi pin bulbs to replace the halogen deck lights which were 20 watts. The light at 4000k is whiter and a
perfect outdoor application vs the more yellow halogen bulb.
Philips recently introduced a 2.5 w LED bulb at 3000k to replace
the above 3 w bulb. I hope the 3000k bulbs are similar to the 4000k ones.
Congrats to Philips for making an excellent product!
