I've never used a grow light before (I usually just use the window) but I have officially converted! The seedlings love it and have sprouted true leaves much faster! I have it connected to a timer that keeps the bulb on 10 hours each day. The bulb definitely gets warm, but that was expected given it is an incandescent bulb. Once my seedlings have been hardened off and transplanted to outdoors, I plan on using this bulb for my indoor succulents. I haven't had any issues over the past month and would definitely recommend for any plant enthusiasts out there!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Very disappointed, it burned out after only 2 days. With daylight growing shorter and shorter I wanted to give my orchid some extra light. Had it on a timer for 4 hours...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for seedlings! On a whim, I decided to try out this light for germinating my tomato seeds. Lo and behold! They shot up straight and tall! As a gardening newbie, I was also surprised at how my other plants leaned in toward the light, so I bought another one for my sprouts (most of which are tomatoes). Rather than leaning toward the window, they are now growing straight up and sprouting their true leaves! Great product!! The only down side is the possibility of overheating. I use a generic desk lamp and floor lamp from target. The desk lamp has a cap and turns off just fine, but the floor lamp on/off switch is metal, and burned my fingers due to the high heat of the bulb (I keep it on 8-12 hrs/day). Just be careful when turning it on/off if the lamp has a metal switch. Overall, it is a great product and I can't wait to see how it will fair in flowering my tomatoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Fantastic I use this bulb for my plants that I bring indoors over the winter. And my plants seem to really love the light this bulb puts off because they seem to really grow fast and healthy. My Plumeria's and my Birds of Paradise, Elephant ear plants and all kinds of other plants and starts that I grow over the winter. My plants really take off under these bulbs. I would recommend these bulbs for anyone wanting to keep your plants healthy over the winter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good growing light At 120 Watts, this bulb is bright. The difference in light spectrum was very noticeable as I used it in a fixture after removing a normal bulb. I used it for a science experiment growing corn ...the corn grew very rapidly...actually too rapidly :-)
