Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Super Bright, Super White, But The Descriptions Not Right! This lightbulb is super bright and super white, but it's NOT a "Flood" light like the description says. I put 5 of these in my kitchen cans and they do a great job of lighting everything directly under them, but everything a foot or two out is in the shadows! Highly recommend if your looking for a spot light. Highly do not recommend if your looking for a flood light. January 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great light, but not wide enough The light is clean bright white. Very good for closets and matching true colors for clothes. But we have four of these, one in each corner of a large walk through closet ( 14 ft long), and there is a dark spot in the middle of the closet , not much light gets there. The ceilings are standard 8 ft height and the bulbs effective lighting diameter AT THE FLOOR is about 6 ft. With the light cans set 8 ft apart it you are looking at clothes at a normal height, you frequently have to move under the bulb to see things well. as the cone of light at waist height is only about 4 foot diameter. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A little pricey but will pay for themselves quickly I bought 14 of these to replace the can lights in my family room and kitchen. The light is fantastic and is brighter and whiter that the 90W halogens that were replaced. The only thing that tripped me up was that the Lutron C/L dimmers I purchased, which are advertised as being specifically designed to dim LED bulbs, did not perform. When I dimmed the lights, 75% of the time they would flash from the dimmed level to a brighter level. I replaced those dimmers with standard Lutron Togglers and the problem went away. The lights now dim properly and show no flashes or flickers. January 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This is not a flood light. This is an update of my previous review where I stated " I wish I had read the reviews before buying this. This is not a flood light. It is a spot light. I bought 3 of them and am now out $120 for bulbs I hate. The effect is terrible - bright light, then dark, then bright light, then dark." Home Deport was most gracious in granting a refund even though I had removed the packaging, after telling them that it was not a flood light. Kudo's to them for their customer service !!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by If you need a flood light DO NOT BUY THIS ONE ! The packaging on this bulb claims it is a flood light. Well it is not. I Installed it in our bathroom and it only created a circular beam about 2 feet in diameter on the floor with everything else left in the shadows. It would however make a great powerful spot light if that is what you are looking for but as far as a flood light this is not your bulb. June 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD BYE 100wt HALOGENS! I own a large retail store and I have converted the ENTIRE store (80+ 100wt Halogens) to the LED Par38 bulbs. Better light than the halogens and my electric bill is $500-$600 less per month now. GREAT bulb..i have tried many LED's waiting for a perfect halogen replacement. These surpass any halogen! Great for retail. Now lets see if they last 22 years!! February 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by more of a spot light than a flood light Just bought one for my dining room (thinking it was a flood light as the package states) for a recessed can fixture; instead of lighting the whole table it really only lighted one place setting even with my 9 foot celing. I am attempting to return it as it won't work as a flood light. January 5, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Could be better It's bright enough - but very small angle of light coverage, about 10-20 degrees. Have it in motion sensor security fixture and it's kinda blinding when walking towards it and you get in the beam. Hard to see where walking when not in the bright spot. Disappointing. Probably works better if in a light fixture on top of a building, to give beam more room to spread September 2, 2013
